Anyone else think we can have a good season next year

We will surprise most imo

6-6 at worst and 9-3 at best is where I see us finishing the regular season. 7-5 or 8-4 is where I would make a wager if I had to.

Yes our schedule is tough but we have more all-around talent than last year and our toughest games are at home. We beat UGA and SC last year, no reason to think we won't get a W this year. Our DC beat Oregon last season with less talent, their QB is suspended and it's in Neyland.

The big test will be "coaching-up" our talent for this new staff and I personally think that will be a strong suit, which will turn a couple close games into W's. Dooley and Co. are focusing alot on fundamentals, discipline and work ethic. Combine that with good talent and we will surprise most, even with our lack of depth.

I know I'm more optimistic than most but I'm a glass half full guy...go VOLS!:)

Despite the fact that UGA finally has a defensive coordinator, and that the biggest reasons we beat SC are looking to get drafted this weekend?

Move Ole Miss to toss up and I think you got it!:good!:

I was on the fence with that one. They lost McCluster, who pretty much beat us last year, but is seems like getting beat that badly one year by a team has the tendency to carry over into another loss the next year. I'm gonna keep my expectations low this year and be happy as long as we seem to be moving in the right direction as a program. The Oregon through Bama weeks are a tough stretch, but if we could win 4 out of the last five games of the season, i would be ecstatic.

Tell that to 2007 Arkansas.

Oh...and a new RB who was the 3rd string RB last year.
And we lost a top 10 draft pick in the backfield and a (likely) top 20 draft pick on the d-line.

Ya know, we are going to have some problems to work around, but I really don't think this right here will be one of them, I respectfully opine.

I see 5 wins (Martin, UAB, Memphis, Vandy, Kentucky)
All the others I perfer to have a pessimistic outlook and hope to be pleasantly surprised if we win one. Better that than be optimistic and be let down. IMO

I think that's a terrible outlook for a fan to take into gameday. I am just as disappointed during an off year when we lose to Florida or Alabama.

Likely Wins: UT Martin, UAB, Memphis, Vandy and KY
Likely Losses: UF, Bama
Toss Ups: Oregon, UGA, LSU, Ole Miss, SC

Some of my toss up games will be easier than others.

The Ducks will be tough but I'm not going to call Oregon a loss until I see that their starting QB is anywhere close to Masoli.

I don't know if LSU will be much better than last season, although a 9-4 LSU squad is probably good enough to beat the current Vols roster. I do think that the Vols get LSU at a very good spot between WestVa and UF. Hope it's not a night game.

Thank Heavens that McCluster went pro. Ole Miss lost alot of linemen but they always seem to have a busload more to plug in. The Rebs, like the Vols, have to plug in a new QB this season. I think that this game will be a good test for both teams. Should be alot of new faces contributing by this point in the season.

UGA may still have a talent edge on the Vols but they are coming unglued. The Dawgs right now are like the last years under Coach Fulmer with lack of discipline on and off the field but enough talent to be dangerous in any game that they can pull thier act together for.

SC may have a RB threat with Lattimore but they still have to proove they can block. Might be a competitive game but I have to give the Vols a slight edge.

Why is everyone picking Oregon as a Loss? That school is in shambles also! A bunch of thugs! I believe it is more of a toss up since being played at Neyland.

Losses to Florida, Oregon, LSU, and Bama should be accepted. Outside of that, I'm not 100% sure on our push" games except Georgia, which I think we will win, f*** Georgia.

9-3 is our limit. But, I think we will get 8-4.

I think we could beat LSU, but 8-4 seems pretty likely to me.

Unless I'm wrong 6-6 won't get us in a bowl game. Since, we are playing UTM.

You are wrong. You're allowed to count one FBS a year. Ole Miss needed seven last year because they played two FBS teams. We're still good.

People think this team will be better than last year's with a worse backfield, a worse line, a worse coach and a worse schedule. Just because. I don't get it.

i say we go 8-5 or 9-4.. which with the situation we are in that is a very good season and great start for coach dd..we are 2-3 years away from being back to where we should be if we can recruit good...and since im living in alabama and have to listen to these annoying bama fans i really hope we beat bama this year more than anything.

I don't see the D-line being any worse really. The O-line and QB position along with a step back at RB will hurt us. In order to be in games this year our defense will have to limit opponents to 2 or 3 TD's for most games. Toss up games will be huge, teams like SCjr and Georgia, Ole Miss will make or break our year and to be honest I see us winning one possibly two of those.

If injuries plague us this year we will be in for a year of hurt.
