It may just be me but i think Georgia and Alabama are going to be in the same situaton that us and Auburn were last year. Losing a star quarterback like Ainge and some big play makers and not knowing what they are going to get out of the next in line? Heck Ainge looked awful the year he split snaps with Clausen and great the next, maybe Crompton will do the same? I think we win both of these games.

I think Tennessee will be undefeated and win the national title.

I honestly think we beat Georgia in a very close game. Bama on the other hand I think we get beat, as painful as it is for me to say it. Fulmer just left us in to bad of shape.

Its not out of the question but its going to be hard. It all depends on how good the QB play is

I also think we will win both these games...I also think we will give Florida a game also I think were gonna be a lot better than people are giving credit for .....I love the UNDERDOG role and the BIG ORANGE seems to play better in that role .......

I think even if Crompton or whoever we stick back there makes 2-3 big plays a game, no turnovers and completes short and medium range passes this is very possible. Who are the Bama and Georgia's starting QB's going to to be? Is Cox still at GA?

Don't necessarily agree with OP's reasoning, but to answer the question...
Sure, why not ?

where does tennessee have a strategic advantage over georgia or alabama?

what matchup do you see tennessee being able to exploit to make this happen?

We hold the high ground to the North and have an easy LOC to protect. Matchups we really like are the cavalry and wits.

we have the ability to beat UGA at home. theyve lost some star power, and they by no means have an easy first 5 games before they come to Knox. we could easily go into that game 4-1 with momentum, and they could be 3-2 struggling. it will take our best play, but we hung with them last year and they were clearly the better team.

as for bama, no. i know they have some "concerns" at QB and OL, and they will lose some games, but not to us. we lack depth and have too many "?" to beat them at Bama. we recruited great. they recruited even better. they have talented freshmen to match ours, so dont put too much faith in a head on match up between the youth, and they likely wont have to use theirs as much as us. i dont think it will be a slaughter though like the last two years, but i doubt it will come down to a FG either.

That would make my season. But realistically, I'm not sure we beat anyone until I've seen a two dimensional offense for a change.

We ask the questions around here Gator boy.

Hey Tguess, where do you see us having a tactical advantage over UGA or Bama? Inquiring minds want to know.

We could have easily been down 21-0 in the first quarter of that game.

:lolabove: oh, and the detroit lions are going to win the super bowl

Is Michael Jackson okay? I heard something about paramedics being called to his house.

Geez, I would be inconsolable if anything happened to him.

Go Vols.

Cox = Dawgs QB. McElroy = Bama QB. Both should be solid, but not spectacular. Cox has more game experience than McElroy. I won't be surprised at all if McElroy performs better than JPW, right out of the starting gate. He's very smart and very poised.

Dawgs had major injury issues in the trenches and on defense last year. They should be better in those areas this year. They lost Moreno but have good RBs. Dawgs may be better than many expect. They will be coming to Kville right after a very physical home game vs LSU so those things should help UT. If UT is playing well enough to be sitting at 4-1 going into that game, UT should have a pretty good chance vs the Dawgs, IMO.

Bama's biggest question mark will be the O-line. Smith and Caldwell particlularly will be missed. The replacements ain't too shabby though. Hopefully the O-line should be playing pretty well by late October. Running backs will be very good and the receiving corp should be better than last season. The Defense will be rock solid against the run and better against the pass than last season. I don't think UT will upset Bama this year. JMHO.

Maybe because our defense is top 5 in the nation. How about Gerald Jones, Nu'Keese, Hardesty, Brown and the other playmakers we haven't had in years past. What im going to love is the recruit you lost GATOR running the opening kickoff back in the swamp. Where is harvin when you need him? And thank GOD we have a punter and coach with enough since to to kick it out of bounds. Without special teams last years game is pretty close and thats sad on your part ha.

we could have easily beat wyoming, UCLA, and auburn. but we didnt. we could have easily lost 50-6 to UF and Bama, but we didnt. whats your point?

Looks to me like both of these teams have a question mark when it comes to Qb just like us so looks pretty even there. Both teams have better recievers than us but if you dont have a QB what good is a wide receiver. We allllll know who's running backs are better. They both have good backs but i dont think either of them outrush Hardesty. Hardesty was killing UCLA last year and for some reason we wanted to throw the ball (thanks clawson) or hand it to fumbling Foster which killed us for two years in a row. Oh and there's this freshman named brown that is supposed to be nasty if you haven't heard. Our defense is better and for once i think our special teams can match up.

I've got a good feeling about the Georgia game. If the bama game was at Neyland we would have a chance. The only things helping us with Bama are that we have an off week before and it will be Bama's 5th straight SEC game and 8th straight game overall...that's not easy.

we wont match those numbers. UF is more than capable of replacing harvin. maybe not quite to his skill level, but really good none the less. special teams will win us tight games, but wont do us a damn good if we cant score us too many points, whether its close or when we are down.
