Seemed after the picks, Joey lost his confidence and was afraid to throw down the field, which caused him to hold the ball too long and get sacked or try to run too late. I think CJH didn’t trust him either at that point, which caused the crap conservative play calling. Also our DBs play too far behind the receivers, and they throw in front of them all night, 10+ yards a pop. This also gives a running QB a huge space once we lose contain. Recurring issues for a couple years now. Am I missing something or seeing it wrong?

You are correct. Joey was rattled last night and was scared to make a mistake. Swain mentioned it During his post game show. Joey’s fundamentals lack when he gets pressure.

It's alot and it's rarely one thing. JA lost confidence but was pressured all night and became indecisive. All of this was not helped by very puzzling play calling. We hit on enough big plays, but there were a few times where we just needed to move the sticks and crossing routes seemed to be there most of the night. Need more creativity in rushing attack...stand by the QB and get a hand off isn't cutting it. Not sure what the QB sweep on 4th down was, and the 4th and 1 pass to a Frosh TE who'd had no targets doesn't line up as a good call. So, it was an all around dysfunctional game.

I'm just ready for a defense and offense that plays all four quarters. Offense I've been pleased with most times this year but defense has given me an ulcer every game.

Where did the defense piss away the game last night?
First I didn't say the defense pissed the game away they actually played good. They played great first half but second half they let Mateer run way to much 200 rush yards with both the QB and RB having almost 100 equally. They still played too soft on the corners but our offense is what pissed the game away. But one game out of 9 doesn't take the defense off the hook for how they've played all year.

I’m going to say I’m surprised he was able to throw for as many yards as he did. He didn’t have much time most of the night. OUs d-line dominated our o-line.

They stopped our run game without even needing linebackers or DBs. They legitimately stopped our run with their 4 down linemen all night. That allowed OU safeties to take away over the top stuff and the LBs patrolled underneath never having worry much about our rushing attack. I have no idea how Joey got almost 400 yards.
