Anyone else shed a tear?

My eyes teared up and I felt sick to my stomach. My heart goes out to Coach Fulmer and his family.

One of the hardest things to watch without getting choked up over. CPF bleeds orange like the rest of us. Im sure im not the only one who watched, to shed an orange tear or 2.

it was tough to watch. the only tougher time in sports i have had is the day davey allison was killed. all that said, i am glad we made a change and i am looking forward to the future.

I had a tear roll down my face.. I knew the change was needed, but it was still very sad.. He gave his heart and sole to this university, and in a way I feel like CPF was a friend. I used to always meet him during the vol walk when I was young and give him 5. He is the only coach I remember roaming the sidelines @ Neyland on Saturdays. He gave his all for Tennessee, and hopefully he will take a job with UT. I cannot see him in another team's colors. Regardless, there will be only a few dry eyes @ Neyland on thanksgiving weekend. I can only hope we make the right hire, but I don't think we can hire a better man.

I didn't shed a tear but I did feel awful watching it.

However, the more I read about some of the reactions of those in the "media" and reading about some of the players' reactions is bringing me quickly back down to earth.

It was def. sad. It will be hard, possibily impossible, to find a coach that will bleed orange as much as CPF does, did, and will.

I have thought alot this season about what it would be like to see CF go, I knew it would be tuff. I had no idea it would be that tuff. I too hope he will continue to be involved with UT.

Didn't cry, but very sad. I think the change was overdue. I respect him, but he is well taken care of financially.

I hope all of the vol nation will show up for Fulmer Day on the 29. Lets sell out the stadium and give Coach Fulmer the respect he has earned.:salute:

makes me very sad because he has been our stability when other programs were imploding, we knew we had a 'rock' as a coach. In spite of not achieving what we had hoped in recent years, it was coming down to 'the coach' or 'the program'. It is difficult to sever the ties with someone who has the history that Fulmer has with TN football....we loved the fact that we had 'one of our own' as coach and his loyalty to TN was never questioned. We hoped that he would get the program back on tract and that when he retired, it would be his choosing and he would go out as as a winner. Ultimately, it became necessary for the AD and the fans to choose the welfare of the program or retaining the 'coach'. His success at TN is obvious and the envy of other coaches. He has been a winner and should have a place of honor in our history.....life sometimes is not fair but he will come thru this and so will we but I apprciate what he has done for TN. I wish he could remain in a position with the football program because he has valuable knowledge but I understand why that would be difficult for everyone. Whatever happens....I wish him and his family the very best. GO VOLS!

I did. I was born in '79 and became a VOL fan early in life, thanks to my Dad. I remember the miracle at South Bend and Majors being the coach, but I did not know what TENNESSEE football was. I became passionate and loyal to my university early in the Fulmer era and he is really all I have known for TENNESSEE football.

I called my wife to tell her and she could tell something was wrong.

GO BIG ORANGE!

It was definitely a sad, sick moment for me. Seeing the emotion on his face and watching him let go of what he has known for his whole adult life was gut-wrenching. In that moment, I truly felt sorry for him.

Absolutely...This is a bitter pill but is something that had to be done...He has been the face of the program for a hell of a long time and there are a lot on here that never knew anyone other than him...Bittersweet but needed

I did once or twice!:cray:

Yes, I was really choked up about this. I guess what makes so pissed about it is that most people just don't seem to care about what he did and who is was and UT. All they care about is W & L. I set there and listened to Foster talk and I was really proud that the players stood up for there coach and what he did for not only them, but UT. Then you come on here and see the players get bashed for standing up and saying what they thought was right. I also read many times were people wished that we would lose games, just so that CPF would get fired. Well, I hope all our commits go else were now. And I also think that rock needs to say " new fans wanted"!!!

I was VERY choked up. More so than I expected to be.

I hope there will be a tremendous outpouring at the KY game. I want that to be a record crowd to honor this man. He is the 2nd most successful coach in program history, won 150 games and a national championship. He's been a great ambassador for the school and the community. He's made a huge impact in the lives of many many young men. His legacy at Tennessee will far outshine these brief, fleeting moments of dissatisfaction.

I am a huge supporter of the decision. It was time for a change. Having said that, I felt really crappy. I actually felt dirty, like I was somehow responsible.
