Anyone else mute the ESPN broadcast?

I was also annoyed when they got so excited by a few Florida baskets and yelled, "You've got the #3 team in the country on the ropes!"

The game was tied.
Ha! Even my wife thought that was a dumb statement.

It’s the SEC network basically. The home team gets pumped up and the color “man” gives a little more to the home team. They do the exact same thing when Tennessee is at home. During the Georgia game, I was afraid Dykes was gonna propose to Barnes after the game.

There should be an announcer rule that you can't talk about other teams/games during play. There was nothing boring about this game.

Agreed. Ole Jimmy went on too long about other stuff and ignored our game. I think these color commentators think they should imitate Dick Vitale for creer longevity but he is the last person they should imitate.

True, but almost every announcing crew does that crap. Remember the old Jefferson Pilot broadcasts of the SEC games pre-SEC Network. Dave Neal, who's now the main play by play guy for most SECN games was the play by play guy for them. They always had one of the minor SEC matchups of the week and they were the worst I've ever heard. Vandy would be playing at Florida, and this was back when Vandy was really bad and UF was really good. Vandy would score on their opening kickoff and get a FG, and as they go to break, Neal would be like "UPSET BREWING IN GAINESVILLE, VANDY ON TOP OF FLORIDA!". Dude, there's 12:00 left in the first quarter, and UF would end up winning like 45-3.

Every fan base in America thinks the announcers are biased against them. Somebody has to be wrong.

The only time I really got annoyed was when Dykes went on for what felt like 20 minutes about the Northern Kentucky play - totally ignoring the action on the court.

I don't mind Beth Mowins. I imitate the way she says "yaRRRDS!" in college football pretty regularly. During the Hawaii bowl, there was a kid named Sharsh who kept making plays, of course she pronounced it like "SHARRRSH!" - which I proceeded to yell at every member of my sports bar group.

With those hard "Rs", she's the lady pirate of college athletics, imo.

I always mute sound sports like everything else is political, I can watch game without all the experts spewing and gushing about certain players and coaches.
Still can't believe ESPN thinks anyone with a brain cell would want to hear anything the Blubbering Idiot Dickie V has to say. Mowins should not be doing mens
basketball like her to do womens field hockey I never watch ……......

I love Kara Lawson. She splains stuff so even I understand. And she's real smart and purty.

Every time FL hit a 3, Beth Mowins made it sound like just they drained a tournament winning buzzer beater. Volume was almost off for me.

Beth is a squeaky little woman very irritating. The other guy went out on the court during timeout with measuring tape that was stupid.
