John Ward? Man I wish he would come back just for a game... Great announcer, and loved his enthusiasm.

I just want the season to be here already... Lol. GBO.

That's almost like asking if we would miss air for breathing. The answer is rather obvious.

JW is one humble dude. He hardly ever even does interviews, as to not take anything away from Bob Kesling and the new staff. One of a kind.

Do Tennessee fans miss JW? I mean does the body need glucose? Do fish need water? Yes brother. I think pretty much all UT fans miss his voice. GBO!!!

One of those things in life that you don't realize at the time how much it really means to you. Or how big a part of the game experience it really was. That man could bring me to tears with pride for the Tennessee Vols.

Makes me sick to think he could have been our announcer for the past 13 years...Guess he didn't really miss all that much. Really, though he was an even better b-ball announcer than football. B-ball is where Kesling is utterly our of his element.

He wouldn't be so missed, if UT had done a better job replacing him.
Those were some big shoes to fill.

If you really want to get bummed-out, think about this:

Most high school aged UT fans have only known Kesling as the voice of a mediocre Vols team. Sure they may have heard tales of the glory days of the 90's and perhaps heard some clips of Ward here and there, but its sort of the way we hear about the General and George Mooney.

I miss George Mooney. I agree Ward was better at basketball. He had less time to be overly dramatic. Still, he has Kessling beat on his worst day.

"Willie Gault ladies and gentlemen is running all the way to the state capital! Give Him 6, Touchdown Big Orange!"

20-15-10 and 5, your voice was our eyes, and we could see....Touchdown Tennessee!

Yeah i'm not a fan of Kessling.. Just don't like listening to him lol. I'm getting used to the CBS announcers a lot more though. My favorite announcer would have to be Brent Musburger... Even though hes on ESPN :ermm:

Funny story aboout Kessling. Back when Johnny Majors was coach, Kessling was doing the locker room show. After a game we lost, Kessling asked Johnny if he liked losing. Made Johnny choke. I was embarassed and turned it off.

Wouldn't doubt it lol. Probably the dumbest question you could ever ask a coach... Or anyone... Hah
