Not really.

Bama is basically a low-level NFL team. We have absolutely zero depth on defense right now. It's a night game in Tuscaloosa. We'll be lucky to keep it within 20.

Our gameplan versus Miss State was brilliant, but just not going to work against a team of Bama's caliber that can score like they are playing a game of Madden.

Hate to be pessimistic, but it is what it is. If I'm Pruitt, I just try to run the ball and run down the clock as much as possible. Limit the number of plays and pray for no injuries. Gear up again next week for South Carolina, which will one of the most important games of the year.

I really don't see any way they can keep it under 20. Hope like crazy that I'm wrong .

Most likely we lose and lose by a lot, but...
1. Bama plays LSU next week and I’m sure to the players a win against the Vols is a forgone conclusion.
2. The weather looks like rain. Tua and his WR will likely still torch us, but rain won’t help.
3. Bama isn’t the same Bama of the past. Their D is good, but not great like it has been in recent years. They’ve been giving up close to 30pts per game to their decent opponents.
4. Our boys are coming off an impressive win, and they seem to be getting better with each game.

Odds are we lose, but the idea that this is an obvious blowout just isn’t how I see it. We cover the 34.5 spread and keep it close in the first half. If the field gets sloppy and the D can get some pressure on Tua, anything can happen.
Bama plays Arkansas next week, not LSU.

Tennessee will be the best Defense they have seen by a country mile. Points will not come easy for Bama.

Maybe if the tropical storm rolls in during game time...it could turn in to one nasty ballgame. Maybe a mud fest evens the playing field a little. But really just don't see a win happening.

NO ! We will do like we usually do. Play our hearts out the first half, then bend over like $10. whores the second half. Lose by 25+ points.

At the mid-point of the season Tua has thrown for 2,000 yards 27 TD and 1 INT.

Let me say it again, that's HALF A SEASON'S stats.

I hope we can get competitive with them soon but it's more likely to be a 21-0 first quarter than to be a competitive game.

I just hope we can keep everyone healthy and maybe cover the spread when they take their starters out.

That's one tired and over-used arm ! We've got this !!

That this game against Bama could get interesting? We’ve got some momentum, nothing to lose and maybe, just maybe enough playmakers to pull off the upset. I think we do it!

Roll Damn Vols!!!
I said this when someone brought the same argument up for Georgia...and I leave it here again as a repeat reminder...

This is the stuff being sent to me. The only certainty on this earth is change. Dear Bama fans, it won't be this year, but it's coming.

Well I'm not saying I do. And I'm not saying I don't. But if I do, I wouldn't say I do. I wouldn't say I don't, but I wouldn't say I do.

No jinxin' allowed.

Even if we have a good offensive performance , their offense is just unfair. Our defense will not stop them. I think this game will be much like last year's.

I just want to see effort Saturday night, I think we know what’s going to happen. Of course, I always think we have a chance, big or small, no matter who we play. I think if the weather gets bad, that’ll help Saturday night. I realize we have to react and they know where they’re going with it but I feel like a heavy rain and bad field conditions could even things out a little bit. I do think if Maurer is going to play we can move the ball on them, their defense is suspect this year by their standards. We shall see what happens Saturday night, there’s a reason they strap it up and play the games. Don’t expect a win but still gotta play
I was gonna interject the weather also.......indeed there is a tropical storm brewing in the gulf and I think landfall is projected in the florida panhandle beginning Sat. morn. How wide the path will be and how long it will last, I'm not sure. A good dose of heavy rain can only benefit UT as it should at least slow down Bama's offense. Unlike baseball, I've never heard of a football field being covered so conditions are likely to hinder Bama. I, myself, hope for a downpour during game time for maximum benefit.

Plus, they got Butch working for them, so there's a fair chance he will screw up his coffee-carrying and dump it right on L'il Nick at a critical moment.

34.5 points and a strong chance of bad field conditions may be a good bet
