Now that Saban and Jimbo have slapped gauntlets down the fact they play the week before we play Bama I think could be huge for us.

The type of emotional slug fest that will likely happen during their game should give us a chance to catch Bama on an off week or recouping after a game like that vs the Aggies.

Also I feel the LSU game is will be a tough out for us even with Kelly’s first year so we could be down if we lose that but if we pull out the win in Baton Rouge then catch Bama down after an Aggie blood bath wow how amazing would those wins be.

This team has more experience and talent than last year's team. Not to mention most have more knowledge of the system and the assignments. This will allow them to play faster and not have to think about everything. Speed kills but having to think instead of relying on reflex action slows down speed big time. I am excited about this year's possibilities.

This season is going to be exciting. Lots of starters back.

We're staring down the barrel of a 10+ win season.

Also we get Florida in a smackdown of those reptiles.
Unrealistic expectation. We lost a lot of important players and our best returning CB is a liability. It's possible we win 10. Also possible we win 6.

This will be known as the season of the fainting goats. Teams have figured out that's the only way to slow us down. The NCAA has put in some paper tiger rules in place for the upcoming season, but as usual we'll get screwed. The only solution is to go into the fourth quarter with an insurmountable lead, which fortunately with our offense is possible. As with last year, the question is can our defense stop teams when necessary, especially on 3rd down.

Oh no not this again lol. We just won 7 games, losing to Purdue at the end of the year, and we lost our two best receivers and best defenders. We brought back virtually noone to a secondary that struggled.

I think it can't hurt, I also think it's very unlikely we take them down. Last year they signed 15 top 100 players, we signed 0. There are 4-5 classes worth of players on the teams with that sort of talent disparity. I'll watch, because you never say never, but until we get 2-3 classes on campus that are alot closer talent wise to what Bama is bringing in, I'll spend about as much time thinking we might upset Bama as I do thinking we might lose to Ball State or Vandy. I'm thinking 8-4, and I'll be very happy with that. It will continue the forward momentum.

Okay, brother, neither of those is even remotely possible. Neither. Remotely.

They say that every time you shuffle a deck of playing cards, that stack, those 52 cards in that exact order, has never before existed in the history of the universe. That is said because the odds of any particular combination (52 factorial) are so astronomically huge that it quite literally has 0.0%, with 60 zeroes after the decimal, chance of happening.

Us losing all twelve of our games this fall is not quite that unlikely, but approaches the same limit (0.00% or deeper). A bit less so, but still hugely unlikely, is us winning all twelve.

So I guess it all depends on how you define "could." Is it something above 0.00000000000000%? Probably. But if "could" means realistically or even reasonably, or even feasibly, or even remotely? No. No, it couldn't happen.

We are likely going to win between 7 and 10 games this coming regular season. Everything else is unlikely enough not to be worth considering, at this point. Now, if we're 5-0 going into the Third Saturday of October, we can revisit these odds. But for now, no.

No, we couldn't.

Go Vols!

Just trying to make a point, but yes it is possible but not probable.

Maybe Nick will be too consumed by all the Jimbo stuff and forget to tell the NCAA what to do.

We brought back virtually noone to a secondary that struggled as it were. This is and always will be a long term project. I keep trying to tell people that, and I understand, but I might actually meet a woman, get married and have kids and they grow before the kids move on and the Vols win a championship lol. I think Huepel is that long term guy. He will get us close many times before he gets that NC. Fans will come and go, but those who really care will stay. Just like they always have. But program changing championships take time. We haven't seen 10 wins since Fulmer. We are not seeing 10 wins next year and probably not at all until the kids coming in are at least 2nd, 3rd or 4th years. What is important with we keep our coach at the same time we allow our investors to stay competitive by investing in these kids. Still, Huepel has character. He won't bring on kids who let that shiezer get to their heads. He is big on kids knowing who they are and where they came from. He is smart, which means he hires and recruits smart people. And a few big uglies... But they are smart too.

Your claim: "We brought back virtuaiiy no one to a secondary that struggled ... "

Sure, there's room for improvement from the NUMEROUS secondary guys that played that we brought back, as aside from the picked-on Burrell, there's Hadden, Turnage, Flowers, McCullogh, Slaughter, and McDonald. There's Charles and Rucker, who were true freshmen, but no longer. Then there are the incoming guys that are new to us but are veterans: D.Williams, Walker, and Turrentine. We have no idea what all this secondary might do.
