Anyone else getting issues with VN on iPhone?

I know this is for the Need Help forum, but I figured more eyes would see it here.

VN keeps struggling to load up. I keep getting this screen with no graphics first, then “Page could not be loaded. Anyone else? IMG_2304.jpegIMG_2305.jpeg

O have android, and was having issues. Cleared everything on my phone, and it worked again. It has acted a little glitchy today a couple of times.

Looks like some kind of a connection issue. I haven't noticed anything today myself but I'll keep an eye on it. Sometimes connection issues like that can be a slow hop somewhere in between your isp and our server. Although I'd definitely try restarting your phone and/or clearing your browser cache.

I’m having issues with being able to comment. I can do it if I go through Safari, but when I use it as a mobile app, it’s not letting me make any posts or replies. I deleted and readded, but still not working.

I've been using the app and haven't had any issues. You sure you're logged in? When you say, "not letting", are you getting an error or what?

It won’t let me type anything into the box. Right now I’m using it via Safari, but with the app I’m logged in and everything, it just won’t bring up the keyboard to text. It may be my phone and not VN. But it was working yesterday.

And you tried removing and uninstalling the app already? Hmmm. That's weird. Might try rebooting your phone.

You got it!

It was doing this weird thing earlier where when I went to like something, it would pop up and ask me to confirm that that is the action I want to do. But it only did that a couple times and then stopped. That’s about when I noticed I couldn’t type anything through the app.

You're probably done this but if not, try logging out and logging back in. Alternatively, you could also try clearing your cache and temp files in safari - this always seems to fix a number of issues.

I literally did the ole IT trick of turning the phone off and back on, and now it’s working 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂

Ok so I got a new phone and even switched carriers (this was already planned, not for VN 😂)

Still having the issue and I figured out the culprit. It only happens on my WiFi. I don’t expect you to diagnose my WiFi obviously, but any thoughts in your grand almighty Freak wisdom as to why my WiFi wouldn’t like VN? It’s the only site that has trouble with it.

Carrier is Frontier Fiber if that helps at all.

I'm pretty sure it's an issue, mostly with older iPhones, when the phone runs out of RAM the page refreshes. I haven't been able to find a complete solution to this point because I can't duplicate it consistently -- but I'm still digging. You might try the web app. It probably won't eliminate the issue, but I believe iOS web apps have better memory management.

Also, I've read that turning of "background app refresh" in iphone settings can help.

I'm considering trying to disable quick reply on mobile -- where the reply box is at the bottom of the thread -- and instead having a lightweight reply page. That could solve the issue.
