I just got back from a party where a few of the fired "coaches" were present. It was kind of funny how they burned their play books and UT apparel...but what they had to say was truly the interesting part of the night.
They insisted that CLK was determined to get rid of EVERYONE, so he could bring in his own staff that would help him find "loop-holes" in the recruiting rules. They said that CLK wasn't confident that the UT veterans would totally be on-board with his philosophies on playing by the rules.
I do realize that they were a little bitter and pissed about losing their jobs, but I do have to at least wonder if their theories hold any water. They wouldn't go into detail, but they promised that Tennessee would be in trouble with the NCAA within three years.
Thoughts??

Yeah Kiffin is going to be that stupid, I think you were fed some BS, thats if said party existed. I am calling you out to tell this board who said coaches were and where this party took place!

I'd say if that prediction comes true MH and the entire coaching staff will be fired. Let's hope whoever said that is wrong.

No need to tell where the party took place.
I put the word "coaches" in quotations because the guys who went on this whole rant were GAs.

Jim Bob, you are going to listen to Jim Bob about CLK's coaching ethics? I think you just blew any shred of credibility by trying to pass off GA's as coaches which you obviously did to try and lend more credence to the "story"

Nope not buying it sorry!!

Six Graduate Assistants were let go. Only two were at the party tonight. Maybe it was Jim Bob, maybe it wasn't. I didn't mention that in the first post because it doesn't really matter who it was that went off on CLK. It was somebody who worked on the coaching staff, but was let go.
I acknowledged that they were bitter and pissed about getting fired. I was just a little uncomfortable even hearing them say this stuff. Just thought I'd come on here and share what I heard, and find out what others thought of it.
I never said Lane Kiffin is cheating for sure. I said that the GAs are saying that he wanted to put together a staff that could help him find "loop-holes in recruiting rules."
It could have been drunken rambling. It could have had a little substance to it. I don't know at all. Just wondered what everyone else thought.

BTW, you don't need to you use an apostrophe to indicate the plural of GAs.

I do because if I don't it would spell gas which is pretty much what you are full off. BTW you don't need to post the same post three times :good!:

while i understand the jd-induced tirade by cooter, i don't buy his reason for being let go. i think kiff wanted to remove all ties to the old staff and there are several good reasons for doing this.

all of the previous GA's worshipped CPF for providing them a job and stability. No way can you trust someone like that, especially if alcohol was involved.

I call BS on this post, it wreaks of a non Vol trying to start something. Why would CLK go out and hire some of the top recruiters in the SEC and country if he was trying to cheat. What you are implying is that all the coaches CLK hired were cheating at the schools they came from. BS, BS, BS if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Knoxville I would like to sell you.

Not at all. That's what I would expect. What HC would want someone undermining his new staff. Lane want's everyone on board and doesn't want any of: "That's not the way we do it around here" or "Fulmer used to do this way."

I find it highly suspicious that a new guy would come in to HIS team, do it HIS way, with HIS guys. I've never heard of anyone doing it that way.

Getting fired tends to skew a person's perspective. And on a side note, using loop holes isn't cheating.
