NO! I hold ZERO animosity toward Nico as I think he's being poorly advised and led around by the nose by his dad. He's just not a good fit for what Heupel wants to do and it appears Aguilar is vastly more cerebral and suited in seeing the field and the plays unfold in front of him.I wonder if his folks know they screwed him or if they are defiantly holding onto the beleif that they are right. I also wonder if they deeply apologized would CJH take him back next year if he were to reach out.
You ain't soft. I feel the same way. Big Nick is one of those overbearing personalities and he's raised two timid, skittish sons. That's what's going to cost them an NFL gig one day. I've seen enough from Nico to know he's not a leader.I’m not even mad anymore, I feel sorry for him. Serious question: how much of his money do you think he even sees? How many people are mooching off him? He reminds me of a child actor surrounded by vultures- people who are supposed to love him- giving him the worst advice.
And for those who say, “He’s in his 20s; he’s a grown man!” true, but in some cultures, obeying your parents is paramount and rarely questioned. I feel like we’re watching a train wreck, and it’ll only get worse week by week.
Am I too soft?
It's hard to feel bad for someone that financially can retire in their 20s. He may not maximize his income, but he is set for life if he handed his money over to a financial planner. He is only making 1 million instead of 2 for this year. I'm sure his net worth is better than most posters. I will save my pity for the child that has cancer. I know I jumped a lot with that analogy, but I don't feel bad for the athletes and I honestly thought they had it good when they just received a free education, meals, nutritionist, opportunity to demonstrate talents, etc. etc. etc.I’m not even mad anymore, I feel sorry for him. I feel like people are reading too much into Arch overthrowing a few passes in a game where he was playing the defending national champ and effective #1 team in the nation on the road. He was under constant pressure and was going against a DC that won 3 Super Bowls. I don't know if he's legit or not, but the degree of difficulty was pumped up to 11! He could still end up having a good season.Sad to say, but at this moment, he and Arch are racing one another toward the bottom of the mountain they both started out standing atop.
Either could recover, of course. I'd bet a lot more on Arch doing so than Nico.
I totally agree with the basic premise of your argument but need to make one slight comment. The $ 4 million that i estimate Nico made at UT (pre federal income tax) isn’t even close to being set for life. A million dollars isn’t what it used to be, especially in Southern California. It will not even get him a decent house. Properly invested; it will go a long way toward retirement. But he‘s going to have to work until then IMHOIt's hard to feel bad for someone that financially can retire in their 20s. Getting paid a couple million bucks at age 20, before taxes, is not remotely close to being set for life. It's hard to feel bad for someone that financially can retire in their 20s. Blows my mind that we have laws limiting what insurance agents and real estate agents can make on commissions, but not sports agentslet me tell you about these young guys and their NIL incomes. The majority of them have "agents" taking as much as 20% of their NIL deals and I wouldn't be surprised at it being higher in some cases. There are no laws or regulations to control what the "agents" could get. Many are family members of the players but many are friends of family... Its bizarre what is going on. A lot of players are just getting ripped off...
Impeccable source familier with our players.

Whereas, Nico ... it's possible he doesn't get to 5 wins this year.
Agree with both of you.Not just on Arch. 2 times you can't punch it in from the 1????? It takes a team.
His father knew it. He feared the mask would fall off and people would realize that Nico's talent wasn't progressing in the college game to the point that it should - probably b/c of Nico's interest in the game. So,....looking out for his family's financial interests, he pressured UT to give more money than initially agreed using the CFP game as leverage. It didn't work. It backfired and UT is now the better with Nico in the rear-view mirror.I wonder if coach Heupel took Nico's dad to the woodshed and explained to him that Nico's stats were what, 8'th or something like that in the SEC?
Nico and Kiffen will live rent free in some of Vol Nation heads for a long, long, time. Because someone will always bring them up. Joey is our QB, and Josh is our head football coach. All the other crap does not matter.I’m not even mad anymore, I feel sorry for him. Serious question: how much of his money do you think he even sees? How many people are mooching off him?
