Anyone else feel down when...

I feel down because, despite knowing since August 2016 that we would need to hire a new Athletic Director, on January 9th of 2017 we still haven't figured out who it's going to be. It is amateur hour at UT, it seems. And we wonder why we can't make a big hire for our new offensive coordinator.

You watch the National Championship game every year? It makes me sick to my stomach watching Bama get all the hype and excitement leading up to the game. Tennessee hasn't got to experience that since 1998 and it's disheartening to know that it's been that long. The worst part is our Administration doesn't care about cherishing those types of moments again cause they're not serious about winning. While Butch is a lot to blame, our Administration is keeping us from being National Title contenders. That just shows on how much they really care about UT fans.

But it makes me HAPPY when, after dominating college football ALL YEAR, Bama blows it at the end of the game and LOSES!!!

Go Vols!!!

You really love being miserable, don't you? When most on here figure out the causes of misfortune, they find a sense of peace in understanding, but not you. It's like pouring gasoline on a fire for you.

Right now, I am enjoying the Hell out of the 8th dwarf being interviewed as the losing coach. Take pleasure in that, and stop worrying about things you can't control.

I am going to do the one thing I can control; try to be the type of fan those guys wearing orange want to represent. Not the type they have to remember to shut out and ignore.

Perspective young man. You think '98 is so long ago? Drift on over to wiki and see how far back you need to go before '98. I'm glad I got to see one...one...in my lifetime. I'm just shy of 60 and doubt I live to see another for UT.

I am just a few years behind you. But unlike you, I believe we could have the guys to make a run. A whole lot of things need to be done better next season, but believe it or not, it is doable.

Am I crazy? Probably. But I hold out hope for it.

No, no, no! I am proud of our SEC brothers representing our fine conference in a stellar way! Remember - they struggled when we were good. We are back! We are better than that 9-4 record - injuries slowed us down! In the meantime, be happy for our crimson brothers and sisters as they get to enjoy the fruits of the hard work by their wonderful head coach! Roll Tide - until Butch and the Vols play you! :dance2:

Yuck

I think a majority of the posts I see here are that Butch likely can't get it done here, but that we have even less confidence that our AD (Ath Dept) can get it done on a new coach hire.

Is that about right?

It's hard not to like Dabo. He is the antithesis of Saban. Genuine guy who smiles, cuts up. Not like that evil ass Saban who has single handedly destroyed college football. Clemson is a great story. True, college town, .middle of nowhere (now here). Program has essentially been dormant.

I wonder if bama will try to run oft Saban to hire favorite son, Dabo?

If you can win big at Clemson you can win at UT. Butch needs to take a lesson. Lighten up.

Honestly, no. Didn't think about the Vols for even a split second last night, just wanted to see a good football game. I don't expect Tennessee to play for national titles, just want them to meet and exceed their own expectations, which are usually well short of a national title

I'm enjoying the process lol. Said it before...Butch is a Dabo type...players love him....great recruiter but he needs to play CEO and upgrade his staff at key positions like Dabo did. That is where Dabo took the next level step. 5 years ago after the most humiliating bowl loss of a top 15 team 70-33 against W.Va. Dabo was humbled...and had to come to grips with his limits. If Butch puts some NFL level people on this staff maybe our team can take this next step. The Rock as our new S&C coach and Wes Welker coaching WR's sounds pretty damn good to me for one.
