You watch the National Championship game every year? It makes me sick to my stomach watching Bama get all the hype and excitement leading up to the game. Tennessee hasn't got to experience that since 1998 and it's disheartening to know that it's been that long. The worst part is our Administration doesn't care about cherishing those types of moments again cause they're not serious about winning. While Butch is a lot to blame, our Administration is keeping us from being National Title contenders. That just shows on how much they really care about UT fans.

I feel down for the Bama fans. Must get boring watching your team dismantle every opponent and always in the NC race. We on the other hand, get to hold our breath playing USCe and App State. We are certainly getting our money's worth compared to them.

Hey now we have went 9-4 (4-4) in the sec cause butch didnt set winning the east with his most experienced and talented team yet. Maybe next year he will care enough to make it a priority and possible beat sec gutter teams like usc and vandy

Hating Bama and the hype surrounding same is pretty much universal. Those UCLA and USCw fans I spoke to while in Cali hated Bama just as much as we do because of the dynasty that's been built as well as how sportswriters suck up to them so much.

Let's face it, if you aren't already a Bama fan, it's hard to like them at all.

No, no, no! I am proud of our SEC brothers representing our fine conference in a stellar way! Remember - they struggled when we were good. We are back! We are better than that 9-4 record - injuries slowed us down! In the meantime, be happy for our crimson brothers and sisters as they get to enjoy the fruits of the hard work by their wonderful head coach! Roll Tide - until Butch and the Vols play you! :dance2:

Perspective young man. You think '98 is so long ago? Drift on over to wiki and see how far back you need to go before '98. I'm glad I got to see one...one...in my lifetime. I'm just shy of 60 and doubt I live to see another for UT.

I suspect this will only get worse. The old dynasties like Nebraska, Miami, USC...would have slip ups or losses here and there then be out of the picture. This year everyone knew OSU shouldn't have been there.

Bama will win the SEC and at least make it to the playoffs ever year for the foreseeable future. Every other year they will win it all if current history continues. There will be a point where people just don't care and stop watching. Even if I weren't a UT fan, I think I would be pretty sick of it. It's reaching absurdity at this point. Unless one is a Bama fan I fail to see how any of this is good for the sport.

Bottom line it's about the MONEY. A lot of blame can go around and where we, as fans, miss it. Is that they accept mediocrity more than anyone. Are they satisfied with low salaries for all head coaches and staffs---absolutely. Are they satisfied with the results of a mid level bowl and or every once in a while appearances in post season tournaments---Absolutely.

The lack of an AD selection and the questions regarding the football staff changes says a lot. We will stay in-house on the OC more than likely. Probably back fill the other positions with less than capable coaches. Hopefully not but looking at this point for cheap hires.

All this starts at the top and has for quite sometimes. Hiring an unseasoned SEC football coach was the first step. CBJs would have been a great hire with a few years more of getting his teeth broken in by coaching somewhere else first. Right now he is still OJT.

How long before CHW is gone. Will land the #1 class for 2017, can she coach them up. Coach Barnes has been a solid hire and hopefully will retire here but best guess is another 4-7 years? Hope not.

Baseball another year in flux. Will be looking at the end of the Season???

The Administration is a good place to start, but they must be happy with the job they are doing because if they were not they would make some tough decisions and move forward verses waiting for a brief shinning moment like 98.

I generally don't get into critiquing or talking about other posters thoughts very often but this my friend is ban worthy.

I'm grateful I got to experience the '98 Championship. It was beyond awesome. And when I think about all of the fan bases out there that have never gotten to experience that feeling, I'm even more grateful.

GBO!!!

and....GO TIGERS!!!!
