Anyone attending 9/10 game at Pitt?

Last minute planning.... never been to Pittsburgh so I’m needing some info on best places to stay that won’t break the bank? Preferably out of the high crime rate areas lol
We are staying at the Hampton Inn/changed to the new IHG hotel. It’s not far away at all. It’s reasonably priced as well.

Where are everyone’s seats? Debating on upper sideline or lower end zone. Would prefer to be around Vol fans

We are checking out the Pirates/Cardinals game on Friday night, but I do not know what we will do after that game. I’ll be looking for fellow Vols all night. We will probably take an Uber and get dropped off near the stadium on game day. I’ll probably be hoarse from shouting Go Vols prior to kickoff.

For those of us that purchased through FEVO, I’m assuming we’ll find out our exact section/seat when the ticket is received 48 hours prior to kickoff?

If my wife would agree to the PNC park thing it would be a bucket list for me as I've heard it's one of the best venues in the country. It will be just the wife and I if you all want to tail gate! Are you all walking across the bridge or taking alternate transportation? Trying to figure out the best and easiest way to get over to Heinz, watch the game, grab some dinner, and get back to hotel.
We're downtown so we'll walk to the game if we're near the stadium before heading in or grab an Uber if we're farther away. Send me your number, we're planning on doing something before the game. I was looking to see if there were any UT alumni tailgates etc happening but haven't seen anything as of yet but I may have just missed it. If not, we're going to hit a couple bars/taverns to pre-game. We just grabbed a few standing room tix and are only planning on staying for 3 or 4 innings max. I've been to PNC a couple of times but my wife hasn't and she really wanted to go check it out, I was shocked. LOL!

We are probably going to the casino after the baseball game on Friday night. GO VOLS

Going to be arriving Friday night. Planning to get out early Saturday morning and see the town and meet up with all the Vol fans I can find. If anyone knows of any Vol Fan gatherings, I’ll gladly swing by!

Also, any food suggestions? Pitt fan mentioned Burgatory, any other places you all will be trying out?

Definitely visit the Strip District, you could even go there Saturday morning before the game.

Good options for food there are Wholey's (a grocery/fish market that has a restaurant are in the back corner that serves fish sandwiches, lobster mac and other seafood), S&D Polish Deli (kielbasa, pierogi, etc), and Peppis (subs and sandwiches). Plus there will be street carts selling other various options and a number of markets with cheeses, meats, olives, etc. This is also the original location of Primanti Bros which I personally think is overrated and would put the places I listed above it.

Fat Heads on East Carson is another good option but its on the Southside and a little far from the stadium. Lots of other great places on Carson also.

If anyone is in town Thursday night, I'm going to be hanging out at the Hofbrauhaus getting a early start on Oktoberfest. Come on by for a few liters of german bier.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it! We’ll make a trip by the Strip District and see what it’s about.

If any of you who purchased through UT Alumni Association are still waiting and worrying about tickets, I just received the email with the tickets so you all probably received yours as well.

Yep. Just got mine as well. This was a great deal. $65 for pretty good lower level seats.

If anyone is a super planner like me and isn't familiar with the stadium you can find your seats in this picture. I think most of the alumni association ones are going to be to the left of the big scoreboard. I hope they do another gigapixel photo for our game so I can see myself cheering next week
