Anybody who thinks the second half of the season will be easy..

Guys we have been through a brutal gauntlet. Even if we were at full strength this would have been tough. Against a team that has 20 5 stars. Think the guys are mentally and physically exhausted from such an emotional run..
The good thing is this next run is a lot more workable and we should be able to re-group and get to Atlanta with a clear head and most our players back. Sans JRM, DOB.

Did I say we would lose? I was responding to the pumpers that seem to think we are just going to cakewalk thru with no problem at all.

Kentucky gave Bama a better game than we did. Let that sink in. Bammer fans were saying they were more impressed with Kent St than us.

You specifically said it wouldn't surprise you if some of our final games go into the fourth quarter. My question is, so what? What does it matter if we struggle with every team left on the schedule but win?

Also, who cares that UK game Bama the better game? Who cares what Bama fans say? Why does that even matter?

If we get even 75% healthier than we are now, we will cakewalk through the rest of the season. And even if we dont, again what does it matter as long as we win?

I don't know how anyone could be very confident after watching the slop we've seen in the early part of this year.. This team could very easily be 4-3 right now and everyone is expecting a cake walk down the stretch, yeah right..

I could see them dropping another.. Maybe in Columbia. Vandy is all of a sudden looking like they may also give us a game. Year isn't over.. The injuries are going to make it tough.

But we arent 4-3 so your analogy is irrelevant. We are 5-2. Same kind of crap was said last year. We won out. Just like we will this year. Doesnt matter if we struggle or not.

Relax. Many of us stated that we would be happy if we went 2 - 2 over the last 4 games a few months ago. Factor that in with key players contributing that we would never have guessed would see the field outside of garbage time, I think the team is in a good place. They have grown since the Appy State game. Thursday and Friday night games seem to energize the underdog and wreak havoc on the favorite. I don't think that many opinions can be formed from the Appy State game. If they take care of business, 10 - 2 is a great record. Any expectations beyond that were probably unrealistic to begin with. Just my opinion though.

Good Freaking grief. Seems like this crap happens every year. Lose to Bama, UF or UGA, regardless of the circumstances and we will be lucky to beat USc, UK, Vandy and Mizzou.

Some fans cannot have any faith in a Tennessee team.

Truth, BOT! 4 weeks ago many were predicting 0-4 through the last 4 games and would have gladly accepted 2-2.

You remember how much a struggle the app st and Ohio games were? Well add in all our injuries plus better competition then those two teams. Wouldn't be surprised if we lost one or two.

It will be a WHOLE HELLUVA A LOT EASIER THAN THE LAST FOUR WEEKS. In which we beat two ranked teams.

Ohio was not really that tough, and both Ohio and Appy state are way back in the rear view mirror.

I think as long as we continue to miss folks on the LOS, and we fumble, committ peanalties, and have slow starts.... A loss is always on the table.

I'm not taking anything for granted, but losing to any of the teams we have left would be..,. Bad.

Yesterday's game sucked, but lets not overreact here. This team will be in much better shape after the bye. This team has shown so much heart time and time again, so I fully expect them to show up and prove what they are made of.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to be USCe...a well rested, pissed off Vols team is gonna be trying to prove a point in that game

At the beginning of this season, I predicted 11-1 regular season. Bama being the lone loss. I prefaced that by saying with no catastrophic injuries. Well those catastrophic injuries happened. I really didnt expect that bad of a blowout honestly. But I did expect a pretty bad loss because of the injuries.

For some reason, many fans just either fail to realize or acceot that injuries play a HUGE part in the outcome of a football game. I am happy with 2-2 through the gauntlet considering the injuries. Now lets get healthy, win out and get ready for the Bama rematch in Atlanta.

You are suffering some tyoe of delusion. This team hasn't cakewalked a game yet. But now - more banged up - we cake walk through the last five games?

We'll be very fortunate to win out.

Is it even remotely possible that the teams left on the Vols' schedule could improve before playing UT?

Yes. But we could improve as well no? Seeings how we are better than them to begin with, it just reinforces the argument we will win out.

The week off helps. None of the teams remaining on the schedule pose a major threat. Of course we still have to play the games and anything could happen, but I feel pretty confident we'll win out.

Well, Vanderbilt played florida tough and Mizzou is not going to be a cakewalk. Everyone improves as the season goes along, unless your team is plagued with injuries...like ours. Going unbeaten the rest of the year is going to be tougher than a lot of you guys think.

I forecasted that we would win 2 out of the 4 games we just played in another thread...I see us dropping 1 more game before the end of the year. I just hope it isn't the Dores. I hate them with a passion...

GBO!!!!

I think we very well might drop one more game. I love the heart of this team, but they haven't played a complete game all year. Now injuries. Won't surprise me at all. We will come out flat once again and we will catch a team where they put it all together.

Volnation would go into complete melt down mode. I hope this doesn't happen, but won't surprise me at all. I said this after the TAM game too.

The Vols match up better with the bottom half of the SEC east, but the upcoming stretch run will decide what fortunes team 120 and Butch Jones receive:ermm:

You do realize that we played 7 bowl teams in a row? UK and Vandy rarely make a bowl game; SC is dreadful; TN Tech is UTC level; Missouri is decent. I am not sure what you mean when you say "better competition"? The dolts are out in full force now haha.

I don't think it'll be necessarily easy but I do think it's gonna be very successful. I think we win all 5 games and finish 10-2. Hopefully that's enough to get us a rematch with Bama in Atlanta.
