Anybody interested in pitching in for a full page ad in the KNS?

I am up in the air about this ad. I think that John Pennington's article really pissed a lot of people off last year even though it was 100% accurate.

Considering the demographic, I think that this could be a counterproductive measure.
well, if it galvanized the Fulmer supporters, we could at least count them. Then we could point out the dwindling numbers with each embarrassing loss.

It's pathetic that I'm now differentiating between losses ans embarrassing losses. Hell, guess I should throw in embarrassing Ws like NIU too.

Instead of a full page ad, I wonder how much it would cost to have each saturday paper come with a paper bag inserted with eye holes cut out. Maybe have it say, "At least beat Miss State!" across the top.

I bet 30,000 would find their way to the game.

Prevailing sentiment by those spearheading the letter is probably this : there really aren't that many Fulmerites left.

If you want the number to grow, I think publishing the ad is a good idea. Otherwise...I can't believe I'm saying this....let Bama come to town and do their thing. I have a feeling things will take care of themselves.

Inserts are really high, I do alot of advertising and have checked on my business before

Philosophically, I think the letter should be addressed to CPF instead of Hamilton. Hamilton has already proven derilict in his duties by not only refusing to take corrective action but instead giving Fulmer raises and extensions. Hamilton is chicken feces, there's no chance he'll step up to the plate. Instead, our best hope is for Fulmer to take a look in the mirror and step aside on his own terms.

I agree with you in a way. Hamilton has proven to be stubborn maybe even chicken like you say. However I dont think any amount of letter writing or full page ad is going to make fulmer step down on his own. He has got that $6,000,000 payday coming. Fulmer knows full well the fan base is very upset (to put it nicely) about the way the team is performing. He has said it interviews a few times "I am not quitting." I believe he has intstructed the players to say something similar.

Totally agree Lex. Patience is a virtue and I believe the end of the season will bring about the results that most on here want to see.

I'm not serious about the ad. The possibility of one happening is extremely remote.

I tend to agree but I think something else needs to be done as well to get Hamilton's attention. Fulmer wont step down and if we go 6-6 or 7-5.. I am not so sure Hamilton will pull the trigger.

well the way i see it, this season will be probably a good time to invest in season tickets. cause the cost will proabably go down, kinda like the stock market, prices are down but bound to bounce back so why not invest hahaha. we should ask the government for a bailout from our coaching staff,,, they seem to be pretty generous in failing in programs

I'd just rather take the money I would contribute to a newspaper ad and use it in a more worthwhile fashion, for example, drinking beer.

All that add would be doing is making the paper money. I agree with this post with my add-on.

+1

Compared to putting an ad in a newspaper, I'm willing to let the product on the field...or lack thereof...speak for itself.

Looks like this topic has lost steam. Upon thinking about it, one suggestion I have is the timing. I think the original poster said he wanted the ad to run on the Saturday of the Bammer game. I think that would be poor timing because, if by some miracle Fulmer were to pull out a win, the message would be totally lost. If we could set it up such that we would run the ad on the Monday after the Bammer game contingent upon a Tennessee loss then I think that would be ideal. Not sure if the KNS would be willing to agree to such a contingency though...

How 'bout one of those airplane ads over the stadium that reads FIRE FULMER

Idiotic.

Are you going to start calling the hogs too?

I've been tired of CPF since watching the asskicking Maryland handed Tennessee in Atlanta. However, there is no reason to make CPF out to be a victim of the fanbase.

Be patient...a 4 TD loss to bama will do wonders.

I have my doubts. How many blowouts at home has Fulmer given us this decade with no change? I can already see the spin...Bama is #2 so what do you expect, we just found our qb who isnt quite ready, Clawson is in over his head so we'll fire him Randy Sanders style.

What is with the defeatist attitudes here? It isn't a very hard thing to do really, just need someone trusted to take the lead.

I agree. Your post is idiodic. :good!:

I would chip in on an ad. I have gotten several small ads in papers here in the Tricities. 1/8 page color ads during Thanksgiving weekend run from $1200 to $1400 in the Johnson City/Kingsport papers.
So, a full page in the Knox paper will be Way up there. Do it with class and maybe the paper will allow it. Could sign it members of Volnation if the site would allow!

You want to be the next Arkansas have at it.

I'm all for CPF being shown the door but let the record speak for itself. Flying banners is the dumbest thing possible.

He's gone. No need to do something classless and make CPF out to be the good guy.
