Anybody else think that was a fumble by Russell?

I know one play should not be the game decider, and I do think LSU was the better team tonight, but what a call. Had they called that correctly, we win. Oh well though, we played good.

GO VOLS!

Les Miles was going off in the press conf. saying "home cookin'" well I think those 2 plays even out and the refs can't help it when LSU has a false start about 5 times and then clearly rough the QB on one play. Stop your whining like it was you against the world

Can't really say much about tonight except our defense blew it for us when we really needed them to come through, you can't let the other team convert 4th down and 8 and expect to win a game....I'm disappointed in tonight, but after that last drive that really made me wonder how much our boys on the Defensive side of the ball wanted it....They played good but didn't show they wanted it at the end

when you've had some of the calls that have gone against you like LSU has then you become pretty sensitive to it. still hard to believe only 1 penalty against your team tonite. what about the non-call against the ut player who tried to take out davis on the punt return? it's pretty easy to single out one play, if you want, but i prefer to say good game on both sides and my team was fortunate to go into hostile territory and come out with the w.

I guess the thing that upsets me the most about the call is that Russell was still fighting for yardage when the ball comes out. I have seen many times when other teams have had our players stood up, pushing them back while 2 or 3 other defenders are trying to rip the ball out and the refs just wait forever to blow the whistle. This was a VERY quick whistle and it was a fumble. I'm not saying this one call cost us the game. UT had several chances to win the game with the 4th and 8 being the Biggie. Not enough presure on that play or the 3rd and longs. Maybe you can call it even from the punt touch or no thouch. After watching it several times, I cannot say FOR SURE he touched it as the replay officials could not either. LSU is a very good team and played well overcoming the turnovers. Miles has no class as far as I'm concerned after listening to him jump all into Tracy's face at half on national TV. I understand his frustation at that point, but that was totally uncalled for. Any university deseves better representation than that when the camera is right in his face.

If he's talking about when JaKouri ran over their returner before the ball got there, yea there was a flag.

That's what I thought . . . At the time I thought he may have gotten a little bit of a push in the back, but it was clearly a penalty.

I don't know what Williams was thinking there, if he was at all..

And just a few minutes before that, Williams dropped the kick off. Need to get him off that field if he is going to keep making mistakes.

Didn't that get flagged?
Yes and if you watch the replay. Davis was still running forward and our guy went to the ground to try to avoid the contact. If anyone thinks that was a cheap shot then please take their flask.

I don't think it was a cheap shot, but it probably still shouldn't have happened.

Russell sort of disappeared in the pile and you couldn't really tell where he was or when he hit the ground... but it looked like the ball was out before the pile hit the ground. Who knows.

wake up call....you guys are not good. You have two losses and will loose another game. We are not good either. I am sorry to be so negative considering your sweet comment about good game on both sides. Screw that. We lost you won. You are the better team so get lost.

It was a fumble. I couldn't believe the officials didn't see it. Russell hadn't hit he ground yet, and a UT player was holding the ball. Hmmm....

Clearly these officials, like all of the others in the history of organized football, were out to get the Vols tonight.

I'm not saying that... but it's just pretty sad. I mean, it's their job... their profession... they should get stuff as obvious as that right.

Yeah, but imagine doing your job knowing that at any time they might stop the whole work day to review what you just did. It's bound to mess things up.
