Anybody bitching about this is a dumbass…

You don’t have to be a dumbass to at least question some of the decisions. I agree that they are far more talented. But we had this game wrapped just about. We had gained late momentum and Georgia was on their heels. What do we do with that. Run 3 times up the middle after a turnover. Kick on 3rd down when we had 7 seconds left. It was by no means a shoe in. It was a long one.
The FG was very makable as he made the same exact FG in OT. CJH had them where they needed to be, but they missed a FG.
The D was getting mauled, but never quit and made enough stops to get back in the game.

I get that it hurts. We're all crushed by it, but don't forget the days of Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt. This is good, high caliber football compared to those jokers.

Saban was a generational coach. Kirby is pretty good. Some UT fans wanted Mullen when he went to Florida, and we all saw how that turned out. DeBoer was highly coveted when Bama hired him, and they want him gone already.

Could it be better? Maybe, maybe not. Could it be worse? Hell yes.

I already knew I was a dumbass. The difference is I’m not getting paid millions to be one. Banks and Heupel obviously did things to get us here, but they absolutely did some head scratching things to lose it. We didnt do it.

We went toe to toe with a far superior -talent wise- heavyweight and lost on a missed FG.

We came back when it looked bleakest and it took a miracle bomb on 4th down from them to even get it to that point.

I am VERY impressed with where this program has come from. Please remember this is a rebuilding year with a QB that’s been on campus but a few months and no D Line and both corners out.

Future bright !!

Again, don’t be a dumbass.

When there's 7 seconds to go and you're on the 37 yd line (gimme kick for a kicker) you don't run a play

You kick the f*****g FG so that if it's blocked, or you do something like you did you get another chance

Stupid call

Heupel made some chickenshít decisions. More than fair to question them. His decision making was the single biggest reason we lost.

I know it’s a super tough call. I know it’s hindsight but it feels like we had a chance to ensure the win there.

It is easy to second guess in hindsight. CJH was going to run another play when we got a false start. He could've run another play after that, but another false start would've put Gilbert around his max. It's just crap luck.

Gilbert makes it and few are second guessing the decisions.
I get it. I was defending Heupels decisions all night. And after a bit of reflection they all made sense. It’s just a brutal loss. But, I don’t want to be the morale victory guy, we showed we are legit. Go get after bamas ass. Same with Florida.

I feel you. It's hard to be positive about a L, and it's important to be critical. I am certain that CJH is going to second guess himself.

This game told me a lot about this team. They have talent. They are capable. They keep fighting.

Buck Fama. LFG!!!

Loser mentality. Im not just happy to be here. When your crowd and your players show up like that and you’ve got a team beat multiple time and blow it, you can be mad. This isn’t 2011 and Im not gonna be glad we were close. Transfer portal era, highly I’d coaches, etc. When your team plays like this team did, you should win. Call me whatever you want. I’m never not going to be mad about a loss. I love this team as coaching staff, but that should have been a win and I can be angry about it.

I’m with you. And I think it’s important that everybody understands that this is reasonable. We’ve gotten to the point where we are happy to just be in the game in the 4th quarter.

He kept everyone in the game when it could have slipped away from us in third quarter. This is likely the most competitive team we’ve had in 20 years. We have key people out on Defense and we were able to get stops. We cannot effectively blitz when we need to until McCoy and and Gibson are back and can cover receivers. Two more monsters on D- Line are out as well. There isn’t any one play that costs us the game. It’s always on Coach when we lose. But who would you rather have? Heupel is far better opportunity at winning NC than Richt was at UGA. We don’t have a bunch of thugs getting arrested every week. We’re not spitting in anyone’s face. We have some high character guys on our teams. The talent levels improve every year. I hate losing as much as anyone and I am proud we have CJH, CRB, CKC and CTV leading our teams.

It will always be tough road win to get in the SEC against a competitive team. Georgia, unfortunately knows how to win better than we do right now. We are almost there. Remember how bad it was not so long ago. We might move up in the polls even with the loss today. We proved we are for real. All we have to do is win out and make CFP. We can do that as long as no more major injuries.

GA is 247 Composite Talent #1.
TN is #16.

We weren't in this game due to talent, which leaves...? C'mon, say it....
Lol
Good show ole chap! Coaching kept us in this game but you have to give credit to UGA’s coaches for forcing the game into overtime and making plays when it mattered the most. The reaction on this board is completely different with a fourth down stop or made FG. But hey, that is football.
