Any Word on the Berry Twins?

I agree with you I think they are going somewhere else. They haven't been around much at all. If they do go somewhere else I think its between Auburn & Georgia.

I don't mean they ARE going somewhere else I am just skeptical. If they both are "vol locks" as many say then why no commitment? Why not just commit and shut down the recruiting process? For this reason I am unsure.

High school kids are very fickle and this will be the biggest decision they have to make so far in their lives.

I love hearing about verbal commits but any kid can change their mind when they wake up on NSD as we all know.

I'll believe we're getting certain players on NSD when they fax in their paperwork and it's official.

I hope for 3 or 4 huge surprises on NSD that will shock the world and will really upset some other teams that thought those great playmakers were all theirs and are then all Vols.

Legacy classes are nice but the classes that brings lots of WINS over the years are what's most important.

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

Is it still possible that they don't take a scholy and school paid by EB?

This is just wild speculation from people with too much idle time on their hands, and far too little fiber in their diets. Wherever the twins end up, they will get a scholarship, because they deserve it, and they have earned it.

I'm just wondering, but what happens if we fill our class and EB doesn't pay for their tuition .. does butch tell them that you guys are too late ?

Doesn't the NCAA have a rule to prevent walk ons being used to circumvent recruiting limits? I read once somewhere about that but don't remember details. Anyone know about that?

In a way I feel bad for them simply because if they come here the fans will be hard on them and expect them to fill the very large shoes their brother left behind.

Elliott takes the right shoe,
Evan takes the left shoe,
They got it covered,
Less pressure on everybody

I highly doubt that would happen. He'll reserve 2 spots for them somehow.

They commit the day after if we lose to Missouri or Auburn. But what happens if we win out? Oh noes!

Could you
Imagine the negative PR if Butch didn't take them and they wanted to be Vols? These kids are Vols. I was unsure for a while,
But it just makes too much sense now. Numbers crunch, sure. Not sure how it's going to happen. But it will.

No ******nit, its not. People need to to get over this dillusion. It will NEVER happen.

I don't understand statements like this. How do you or anyone else know definitively? Why not take a position, back it up with evidence, and discuss rather than just say, "it will NEVER happen."

I for one don't think it will happen, because maybe the twins take pride in the fact that they earned their own way. I could be wrong, and EB might come and surprise us.

have they took a official visit yet

They have not. They may not take one as they have been on campus a bunch of times already. With us having fewer OV's because of the probation, them not using one allows the staff to have a couple other kids OV.

That being said, these kids are all Vol.

Eric committed in December and OV'd almost a month later. May be the same for the twins. They have seen gameday, may want to official when its less hectic.

This actually makes me think they might actually walk on. I give it a 40 percent chance

Elliot seems to be more vocal in his support for Tennessee while Evan would seem to want to be recruited a little more. Not that I think it means anything, just an interesting personality trait I've noticed.

I wish they would have committed early and helped recruit. If they are coming. At the rate commits are pledging we should know within a few weeks.

Based on the recruiting success that CBJ and Co. have enjoyed, I can't imagine an early commitment from the Berry brothers making much of a difference.

On a related note, I don't think numbers are as much of an issue as they appear to some. I suspect there will be some academic casualties as well as kids who pursue other options before NSD. Happens every year. My guess is that UT will add 5 more commitments and still be at 30 by NSD.

The good news is that CBJ appears to replace decommits with equal or better talent.

This summer it was the opposite. Evan was pro-Tennessee in his interviews and Elliott was Ho-hum about it.

So, in conclusion, they both bleed orange and will commit whenever the eff the family and Butch decide the time is right.
