I haven't heard or seen anything official. But rumors have been flying for the last couple of months that he might transfer. Right now he's behind Brown and Oku on the depth chart so he's not real happy about that.

He has seen a little more PT the last two games...will be interesting to see how the bowl practice reps shake out.

Poole didn't get a chance do shyte. He's gone imo. That's too bad.

Ugh? He played in Vandy game for zero attempts. He got 7 attempts for the season with 5 win WK game. He'll be leaving campus.

With BB hip we need him to stay in Knoxville next fall. Did Toney Williams get a medical redshirt?

IMO I dont see Oku being an SEC back. Now Toney Williams could be a different story. If Poole leaves the staff needs to get another back in this class.

Tailback is a crowded position at most places.

If find it hard to believe a 3-star player and enters a school with a strong program and would quit for lack of playing time. You are talking about a school where Travis Stephens had a minor role only to have the all-time leading rushing season his senior year.

Poole has three choices:

1) stay at TN, play on special teams, and work toward getting carries
2) Transfer to an FCS school and get a chance at starting.
3) Sit out a year and go to a Sun Belt or MAC school with the probability of not starting

There have many guys who have huffed off to FCS only to find out they don't get to start there either.

Don't assume Poole does not think option 1 is the most attractive.

It's too bad about Tauren Poole because of what could have been. He no doubt is one of the best running backs in recent years. Every time he ran the ball it was for positive big yardage in the past couple of years. Does anyone know the whole story behind why he never played much under either coaching staffs?

He supposedly had a ball security problem at practice. And with the way our backs have taken care of the ball I don't want to see a change in the rotation.

I really liked Williams in the spring and I thought he was running better than anyone. But I don't think you can ever be "fully" back after an injury like that, whether that be mentally or physically or both.

I just don't get this love affair with Poole. He's done nothing in an actual game to justify..."He no doubt is one of the best running backs in recent years". I hope he stays because he's seems to be a quality back with potential. But this infatuation with him at this point is bizarre. :dunno:

Toney went to my high school and every time I saw him, he ran the ball pretty well.

a chance in a actual game! TP will not be at UT next year and more than likely will transfer to ACC school. before he or a family member can actually talk to another school he has to get a written release from Kiffin. bottom line he feels there no place any longer under Kiffin(trust factor for Tauren, in other words he doesn't trust his Coach) so unless something dramatic happens which i seriously doubt Tauren will not be back at UT next year.

Why would Williams need a "medical" redshirt? Didn't he get hurt before the season? I don't think he played in any games. Thus he wouldn't need approval for a medical redshirt.
