The only people who use that argument are the ones who can't think of a good reason to not wear alternates. Traditionalists hate when the PLAYERS might want to wear something else once.

Thought the same thing. Butch in a round about way has elluded to that. Just from his comments it didn't sound like the school would approve of what Adidas was trying to throw out, especially if they altered them to look like the ones that had shown up online earlier in the yr. Those Smokey Grey's were horrible. Thank god we only have Adidas for one more football game

They could mix it up a little and keep the orange and white, which really pops. A matte helmet might look good, but for bowl game I agree with tradition. Use alternates for playing crappy teams to bring in fair weather fans.

Not true! There freakin ugly! That's why! You can only do so much with orange, unless you want them to look like cartoon characters. Yeah, I can think of several recent fails because of change for the sake of change.

Well I don't see why both teams can't wear their home uniforms. I hate the "visitor" uniform rule. So many times home/home unis provide plenty of contrast.

My understanding is that the team has a senior leadership group that has voted on uniforms all year. Of course they may have not had an alt uni as an option to vote for but I haven't heard that.

Wear orange but please, no orange on orange. It's gaudy and defies good taste. Please, no gray, no black, no non school colars.

I thought the same way till this year. Never liked the all orange at all. Now I really like them. Don't know why, just do.
