Any updates on Martin's injury?

They were icing Martin's right knee and he left on crutches. There did not seem to be a huge since of panic by anyone including Martin, but he will be further evaluated.

According to one of the GA's after the practice, it was just a knee sprain. All that other stuff was purely pre-cautionary.

One of the players moms was sitting behind me and she went down and asked if it was serious during halftime, she said he shook his head no and she said it was probably just a bad bone bruise. Either way it doesn't look to be serious.

Great. The last thing Ben needs is a serious injury after the breakout Spring he has had so far. Him and Chris Walker will be a great DE pair for us if they can stay healthy

How about Lathers? He went off with a left ankle/knee injury in the first half. I'm not sure if he went back in after that.

We saw him leave after the game. He was on crutches and appeared to be in some pain. Everyone was patting him on the back and wishing him well. I think if it was serious they wouldnt have had him walk out on his own.

I saw Lathers at some point after the game and he was walking. He was trying not to bend his leg and was limping, but it's a good sign that he was walking on it...

These guys have been going at it hard this spring and I am surprised there are not more players injured. I wonder if the conditioning workouts have had anything to do with the teams overall physical resilience?

I had lunch with Chris, Ben and Wes before I left Knoxville today. The initial diagnosis is indeed a strained MCL. He will be evaluated tomorrow. Those guys looked like the walking wounded!

A sprain is a tear, by definition. It all depends on the grade of the tear. MCL tears/sprains usually do not require surgery. Hopefully its a grade I or II tear which should heal in about a month.
