Texas has a 4* DE (Roberson) and a 4* S (Bonney) that we could use. Texas 2014 Football Commits

ESPN: Decommitments, believe it or not, are not all that uncommon at Texas these days. Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints teammates Demetrius Knox and Daniel Gresham opted out of their verbal pledges in April and May, respectively. During the 2013 cycle, Texas saw five players decommit, including highly regarded wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones, who ended up at Texas A&M, and defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson, who signed with Alabama.

ESPN: Will Florida's loss to Miami on Saturday hurt them in recruiting? The Gators have six commitments from South Florida and their top-rated recruit, running back Dalvin Cook (Miami/Central), was in attendance to witness Florida's 21-16 loss on Saturday. After the game, however, Cook said he is still 100 percent solid in his commitment to the Gators and believes he will have an opportunity to get early playing time in Florida's offense. Florida wide receiver commit Ermon Lane also said he is still solid in his commitment to Florida but admitted he will likely take an official visit to Miami. For now, it appears the loss didn't hurt Florida's recruiting too much, but that could certainly change as the regular season and the recruiting season plays out.

Don't follow recruiting closely enough to say but I like your "kick 'em while they're down" attitude:loco:

Not too likely.

A&M is hotter than lava in recruiting, and would devour almost anything Texas loses. Same with FSU and Miami.

I'm not sure we are even recruiting in Texas, and Butch is going to lighten up on Florida to focus on neglected Virginia, whose instate schools are struggling

Have to take care of our own commits, especially if we lose the next two!!. Fla is a winnable game, but it will take 5 turnovers in 6 plays for us to beat the Ducks! JMO:vava::vava:

This. I doubt one loss hurts UF much at all in recruiting and it wont benefit Tennessee if they go to Gainesville and lose in a couple of weeks. If any school were to steal any of their commits you'd have to think it would be FSU or Miami.

A&Ms D is not great. Alabama going to grind em down.

The 4* DE committed to Texas is from San Antonio.

UT can NEVER stop recruiting in every SEC state.

I can't tell whether this Virginia recruit thing is a sunspot or a new fact. But I'd like to see UVA go 5-7 and see us get one or two of those top recruits. They looked pretty horrible vs. Oregon [hope we don't].

I dont imagine Miami being good helps UT get South Florida/Florida recruits away from Florida, rather it keeps them from going to Florida and go to Miami instead.

I don't know if there are any left but let's scavenge survivors from the USC "carcass" as well, if they're interested.

Virginia has been a good state for talent for a long time. That's what Virginia Tech has lived off of. Now that they're trending down some, it'll be easier for us to make some inroads.

We already making inroads in VA. We lead for '15 Jaason Lewis.

With CBJ, he will recruit based on UT's on field performance, relationships with the staff and not so much based on how other schools are doing, which is quite refreshing.

That's how you recruit and get 4/5 stars, especially on a national level.

We're talking about trying to steal players who don't want to take part in rebuilding jobs away to our program that is the midst of a bigger rebuilding job, right? Hmm...

Might as well throw Southern Cal into this too Kiff is about to crap his pants again in the national spotlight, only difference is, there's no Tennessee out there to save his credibility this time. Of course a few of the SC players would look awesome in the 117 shade of orange.
