Wonder if they have to run stadium steps or extra laps this week?
Carry extra footballs to class?
Missed playing time? Sit out a series or two for each lost fumble.

Seems like its become an epidemic with this team.
We were lucky in the first few games when we kept recovering our own fumbles.
But, the law of averages has caught up with us.

We need a fumble free game vs Bama to have a chance.

You can rule out extra running. At this point in the season their bodies are already taking a toll. Probably reduced pt

Having the entire team watch a "lowlight" video compilation of all of the fumbles and stupid penalties with the guilty party standing up on stage might affect behavior.

Thinking of "punishment" is wrong.

This isn't about punishment. It's about training. You train competitors to be better, to get better, to improve.

We need to improve in ball security.

I would not be surprised if our lads end up walking between classes with footballs tucked firmly "high and tight" in their arms.

Not for punishment. For training.

My favorite part of the movie The Program is when their highly touted freshman fumbled the ball. The coach had him carry the ball with him all week. Coach then informed the rest of the team that he wanted any of them to bring him the ball and the fumbler was told that he better not come back to him without the ball.
Something like that is order IMO.

if Coach Jones is smart...nothing, except, walk-throughs holding the ball high and tight, and the film room, pointing out the turnovers...this is not a time for "punishment"...the team already got that...:peace2:

GO VOLS!

The word is out that the team is prone to fumbles so our opponents work us that much harder.

Can someone break down the fumbles by forced and other? There was some hard hitting going on. Also, how many did we lose inside their 30?

AK, Berry, Dobbs (pass), and Jelly were forced.

Well, Butch has already had them carry the ball around campus in an attempt to install ball security. I saw it on a video ... ,maybe it was preseason. Butch said in the post game presser he was going to make ball security a priority and maybe work on it as much as "20 minutes every day." Whatever that means.

Have them search:

college receivers running backs ball protection drills

Then read & watch & write a report with fi-dollah words in it on what they found important.

Then practice all that important stuff, over an over an over an over an over ....
