I love tailgating and was wondering if they was a place to get free WIFI so I can stream my slingbox or Justin.tv with higher speeds than 3G.

Thanks for help. I thought maybe on the strip they was a place to tailgate with free WIFI.I guess iPhone will have to be good enough with 3G service with composite cable to flat screen for ESPN and antenna for local.

If you have AT&T, then you can hook up to McDonalds or Starbucks if you are close enough

Not totally sure yet, but probably right by the practice field.

Gonna see if I can find something better, but it's a cool spot.

Local works great with antenna but been experimenting with iPhone with composite and componet cable works fine at my moms but not so well at my house but hoping to get strong signal in Knoxville. If ESPN was only free.

You can get free WIFI around several buildings on campus if you have a login. We found a couple of students walking through campus and gave them beers in exchange for logging in our computer to the UT system. However, from personal experience, you can't get a reliable slingbox, ESPN3 or JUSTINTV feed through WIFI or even a mifi or portable internet feed from att or verizon or whoever. I'm not a computer expert but I would guess it's bandwidth problems or something along those lines. We tried it several times the last couple of years and it would "buffer" or just cut out a lot. It is very annoying. We finally broke down and got a tailgater from dish. It's only an additional $10-$15 per month if you know someone that already uses dish network at their home. And you can turn the service on and off at will.

Not to rain on the parade, but I've also tried the mobile wifi thing with little luck. Mobile signals, regardless of network ( we've tried multiple), are jammed up on gameday.

Thanks everyone. I can stream ok with 3G service with iphone while driving. I run my iphone through my DVD player in car and does reasonably good through Tri cities to Ktown considering it is 3G. Did not know if signal would be good or not in downtown knoxville.Local is fine.
Most of ESPN good games are at night anyway.
