Any one ever had Lasik surgery?

Shin splints: Most important are avoidance (by not overtraining, especially too quickly), proper shoes and orthotics (to adjust the angle/lie of the foot), and strength training to equalize the multiple muscles of the lower leg. Also, it is important to distinguish simple "shin splints" from tibial stress fractures. The latter may require more aggressive therapy, as guided by an Orthopedic Surgeon, especially one with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.

LASIK: Early results are impressive, with a very low rate of complication. There is fairly good evidence that the procedure does little, if any, harm to the long-term health of the cornea. However, it looks like visual deterioration is quite common, and I've heard of people requiring repeat surgery or other visual correction down the road. The procedure is relatively new, so 10+ year results are really just emerging. If I were you, at 20/25, I think I might hold off. Just my opinion.

You might try taping your arches with shin splints as well. That worked very well for me.
