A friend of mine is looking for a notary public that would be willing to visit the Knox County Jail.
The other person signing the document is currently residing there.

My friends father died. She is trying to become the probate executor of his estate. Her sister(the one in jail) has agreed to sign over her control to my friend(her sister) since she is otherwise "occupied". It's to my understanding that a notary public has to witness the the signatures thus requiring a visit to the Knox County Jail.
Unless there is another way of approaching this situation. I know the Knox County Jail is in the City County Building so I wonder if there might be one on the premise?
You'd think they'd have a notary on site or at least somebody that they use from time to time. Surely there's paperwork that gets notarized at a government facility like a jail. They probably have a procedure for it.
Jail at City County is for short time sentences usually, waiting transport to Detention Facility, and for court appearances. Detention Facility is for longer sentences, more violent offenders and solitary.
