i love the NHL, and i pull for my lowley edmonton oilers, but i go back to the gretzkey days, after he went to LA, i strated following alot of other players, like mario lemuix, and pavel bure , joe niewuedyk, mike madono just to name a few.

so hockey fans feel free to discus here. im just gona list my top 5 hockey players of all time, im not saying there the best except for gretzkey.

1 wayne gretzky
2 pavel bure
3 mario lemuix
4 mats sundin
5 joe sackic

current players

1 sydney crosby
2 alex ovexken
3 evgeni malkin
4 eric stall
5 jordan stall

now i wish we still had the hartford whalers , and qubec nordics, and winnipeg jets but ill get over it, when i relax into my NHL 10 dream world. when all those teams go back to where they came from except the dalls stars, the minnisota wild are just fine.

ok still rambling, we have a parks and rec floor hockey team here, we have a 8 teams and play a 24 game season with a 5 team wild card play off, we are 7 games into our season and my teawm the
nordics  are in 3rd place, with 41 points (the goal tending in this leage isnt great) and im 4th in the leage ain scoreing and 1st in the leage in assist and 4th in goals and ofcourse being the nordics and sence im the sponser of the team i chose number 19. and i wear the C :) . my little bro wears my number 14 i wore at E@H dont know why he didnt chose his number 7.

ok comencing on with the rambleling there are a few openings on the teams left 6 slots i think in all are open if any of you tennessee boys have the sack for a real sport, there are no boards , but the bleachers kinda hurt to, we try to use gym matts to pad as much as possible. you must supply your own gear and i can get you a list of what you need if you have never played. most of the teams ARE holding tryouts for goal tenders and the leage commity has voted tha team sponsers can pay a player up to 50$ a game. most games are endoing up like 15-12 , so if anyone out there looking for a little extra cash, games are played tuesday, thursday nites @ 630, and 830, satruday games go on all day from 12:00 pm to 10 PM. so if your a good enough goalie you could make an extra 1200$ for christmas. if you suck you can still play for free, and if enough intrest is gatherd we will look at adding aditonal teams next season .

we are also having so much fun with this looking at playing a spring short spring tournament. this is really a blast guys im having more fun here than i did playing IIa college football. this is my 2nd season and think i missed my calling, i lead the league in scoreing last year, but we have more teams and better competition this year. i had only played a little ice hockey when i went to northen indiana to live a couple years when i was 11-13, and then went back in summers to play in a roller hockey league, didnt have great sucess their.

if you are intrested pm me or or email me at david_baldwin_jr@live.com.

My first real job was with the Kentucky Thoroughblades an AHL minor league team for the Sharks and a few years for the Islanders.

its floor hockey man, no skates of no kind LOL, we are mostly fat ex jocks or millitary guys in our late 20s to early 40s. nothing real searouis, just a hell of alot of fun, we use tennis balls with the outer layer pilled off for pucks thats how searouis this is, i did buy myself some verry nice sticks though same ones crosby was useing last year 299$ a pop. have 4

Funny you mention that....hanging in my closet to the right is Zdeno Chara's T-Blades jersey. The thing is an absolute tent.

NHL player name spelling fail.

On a pretty large scale.

When someone claims to be an Ovechkin fan, you'd think they'd be able to spell his name correctly. And that's just one of the more glaring examples.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad you're a hockey fan. It's a really cool sport that I always kinda admired, but have only started following a little more closely in the last few years myself. I just recommend if you're going to make posts about your picks for the all-time 5 greatest players, or just talk in general about hockey, it helps to spell players' names right and sound a little more like you know what you're talking about than someone who just started following it in the last month or so.

As long as we're talking about "hockey fail", I had some Rangers fan a few years back acting like a condescending ass on account of me being a CBJ fan. Essentially, the intimation was that I couldn't know anything about hockey.

I told him that I've been following hockey and the NHL since Gretzky was still with the Oilers. There was about a 10 second pause, then he says, "I didn't know Gretzky was ever an Oiler".

that's a far more glaring mistake than haking up some Czechoslovakians name that you've seen maybe once or twice in your life.

this isn't comp 101 people.

by hammering home spelling you conceed the list is accurate, which it is not.
