Volnation was going crazy before the Sunseri hire with rumors and a recruiting meltdown. Why is there not more chatter on the remaining position coaches? Are people more confident now that Dooley will upgrade the coaching staff?

Because if VN learned anything about rumors and insider info.............its that NO ONE KNOWS JACK SQUAT AROUND HERE!

Better to just wait til the announcement.

Or ask Randy Shannon, Lovie Smith, Jon Gruden, IMO, JMO, etc., etc.

Probably are giving Sunseri some latitude on getting his own people secured. Could be in negotiations. I am just as glad that all of the wild and false rumors are not flying around. They will be announced soon enough.

IMO, it's because DC is more important than position coach.

Notice that the UT sports media is keeping their mouths shut this time?...with the exception of Basilly-o.

The UTAD "deep throat" retired and was not needed to keep track of UT sports history while he passed along information.

Saw a tweet last night from ESPN's John Buccigross that said, "Hearing Randy Shannon to WVU is pretty much done." :eek:lol:

Maybe people realize things just might work out for the best and the hand wringing has stopped. :clapping:
BTW, thirty FBS schools hired new head coaches and there are numerous searches for position coaches.

I was hoping for some false inside information or flight reports guys. We need to tap some phone lines or locate the janitor who cleans the AD office. Maybe we can locate Dooley's barber or Hart's secretary's gardener to get some info.

TIFWIW, but I'm hearing from people I trust who are close to the situation that Saban is making a move to hire Dooley's barber away from Knoxville with a guaranteed 3 year, $1.8 mill contract that will make him the highest paid barber in the SEC. My sources say Dooley is making a counter, but the lure of cutting hair for a National Champion is too strong. The deal is also expected to include a new title, "Chief Coiffure Coordinator." Expect the official announcement in the next 48 hrs.

If you think Bud was ever a "source" for local media, then you're completely insane.

i think the last 2 hires let people know the sky is not falling and now you have both defensive and offensive coordinators in place so the rest are not as critical

Cross Hobby off the list. Just hired by Clemson as DE coach.

My top 5 would be:
Bo Davis (Texas) will be hard pull
Brick Haley (LSU) same problem
Kacy Rodgers (Miami) may be available after NFL movement of coaches)
Travis Jones (New Orleans) same as Rodgers
Clint Hurtt (Louisville) may not be candidate after Miami issues

I hope the Palermo rumors are not true. I don't think the guy can recruit or will coach for more than two years at UT.
