Any news on Orange and White game?

Atl can’t begin to compare on the entertainment scene that Nashville can. Super Bowl is a week long event, more than just a game. Add to it all venues, hotels, arenas, music venues, stadium are in a walking distance of one another, unlike Atl. Nashville needs a dome. After that, the Super Bowl will be there.
While Nashville may have a lot of entertainment options, the belief held by some on this board that it is among the world's or even the United States' great cities is beyond delusional.

Nashville has many faults. Just a few are: Public education is a disaster, Metro government is a complete joke full of corruption, mismanagement and greed, crime is way too high, lack of public transportation options, etc but the city can throw a party pretty well. And the Super Bowl is a party.

Actually, Nashville is a great city with wonderful entertainment and food outlets. It is great for a weekend away from home and is especially nice during the Christmas season. I have never lived there, but has some friends who live there and some who have lived there for a number of years. More really good restaurants in Nashville the the rest of Tennessee combined. Which cities in the South or any other place would you rank better? Waffle House and Bojangles do not count.

meh...that's dumb. Fans and players want a game.
Not really a game. Now if they played a game that would be different. And I would rather them have another meaningful practice than a glorified scrimmage that means absolutely nothing.

Southern cities that would be better host cities for a Super Bowl include Miami, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston.

Super Bowl cities need huge numbers of hotel rooms, large major airports plus additional airports to handle the influx of private aircraft, and an expectation of good weather in February. Nashville lacks in all of those.

Not entirely impossible for Nashville to get a Super Bowl but if all Atlanta can draw is 2 games in 30 years, the expectation that Nashville would be a regular Super Bowl host is absurd.

Count me in on delusional if it is crazy to think Nashville isn't as fun or interesting a city as some of the other NFL home towns. If you love music...Nashville is THE city. Tennessee is a beautiful and friendly place to visit. Not going to put down other places but, I settled here for a reason.

First sentence...just no. Second sentence...we are talking about building to Super Bowl numbers of rooms and a bigger and better indoor sports facility. Sentence three...what is it with you and the "absurds" and "delusionals"?

You’re the one that said you “settled” not anyone else. Ha. Nashville has a lot of good things going for it and just like any big city it has some opportunities too.

So....is there any news, hopefully more than VN opinions, about the Orange and White game? I enjoyed the week long Vol Train or whatever it was called where UT staff and players visited UT Memphis, UTSI, UT Chattanooga, and other locations for lunch and meet and greet. Understand people are still dying from COVID and also understand most outdoor venues are open and ready to go. The days of the family all getting together and heading to UT for a Saturday of autographs is over for me but, sure hope the younger folks, families, friends are still able to do that. Ditto enjoy the spring football game on TV. I support an Orange and White spring football game. Hopefully timed where fans can attend baseball, soccer, softball, and other sporting events on The Hill.

"settled" - a term of endearment spoken in the south to signify the place where someone is very happy spending the rest of their life. I guess everyone else is still trying to figure it out or just lost. A lot of folks just lost these days. I settled in Tennessee. Good Ole Rocky Top. Not Nashville. Prefer living on a beautiful lake, out in the country, good fishing, good hunting, can't beat it. Enjoy the beach a couple times a year and visiting the "big" city a couple times a year for a concert. Then back home to where I "settled" again. You should try it.

Should’ve used blue font instead of ha as in haha as in just joking.

Living close to woods works for me too.

First sentence...just no.
Lots of wishing for a Florida bowl around here a couple of months ago over Nashville so must be a fair amount of ignorance about Nashville in the Tennessee fanbase.

Good luck building a billion dollar stadium, doubling hotel rooms, expanding BNA and attracting an airline other than Southwest, finding somewhere for all the business jets to land (and no, Smyrna airport is not an option with its current infrastructure), and ensuring warmer weather.

Sentence three...what is it with you and the "absurds" and "delusionals"?
Well that makes bout much sense as bathin yur possum in the concrete pond so just strip me nakid, cover me n huney and stake me over a fire ant hill, bless yur heart.

I don’t know if you’re joking or not, but I love it. I grew up on North Carolina bbq and now I am completely converted to Memphis dry rub ribs .
Not joking!

I'm from Lynchburg VA and spent all my summers in west TN with my moms side and I have lived in Nashville since 2020 and I still haven't tried Memphis BBQ and I keep forgetting! Gotta just go down to Memphis one day and pig out.

You definitely do. There used to be a couple of places here in Central NC that were Memphis style bbq spots, but they’re mostly in Winston-Salem now.

Hard to beat Rendezvous Ribs across from the Peabody downtown. Beale Street has some good blues jam venues.

Have you never heard of John c tune airport. I guess you don’t have a private plane.

I would think BNA is plenty big enough of an airport for both commercial & private flights along with John C. Tune on the private side.

As for as weather goes if they build a brand new dome or retractable roof stadium that's taken care of after all they've had the Super Bowl in Detroit, Minneapolis, Indianapolis and a few years ago at an open air stadium in New Jersey.
