Ty Chandler's availability for Tennessee's game Saturday (4 p.m. ET, SEC Network) against East Tennessee State (1-0) is uncertain.

Coach Jeremy Pruitt said Monday that Chandler, UT's sophomore running back, "got his bell rung" in the season opener against West Virginia, an injury that ended his game. On the play, Chandler caught a swing lateral and took a knee to his helmet as he was being tackled.

Pruitt described Chandler's status as day to day.

“Our physicians are going through the normal routine with that," Pruitt said.

Chandler started at running back. Given his first-half exit, Tim Jordan shouldered the load and responded with 20 carries for 118 yards.

Chandler and Jordan are listed as co-starters on this week's depth chart.

I say keep him out for ETSU and let him rest up. We should be fine without him for that one

Hopefully he can be back for the Florida game. No reason to play until then unless of course he is totally healthy and can play a few downs.

Penn State thought the same about App State last week and almost let them repeat history. ETSU is no App State but we are no Penn State this year either.

Terrible comparisons. We could beat ETSU playing the second string the whole time. If not, we should give up football.

The bare minimum concussion recovery time is roughly 2 weeks. The "average" max is around 100 days. It would appear that Tim Jordan will be starter with Madre London as backup.

Madre London did not impress, he looked slow and much less mobil than Jordan or Chandler......
