Ty Chandler's availability for Tennessee's game Saturday (4 p.m. ET, SEC Network) against East Tennessee State (1-0) is uncertain.
Coach Jeremy Pruitt said Monday that Chandler, UT's sophomore running back, "got his bell rung"
in the season opener against West Virginia, an injury that ended his game. On the play, Chandler caught a swing lateral and took a knee to his helmet as he was being tackled.
Pruitt described Chandler's status as day to day.
“Our physicians are going through the normal routine with that," Pruitt said.
Chandler started at running back. Given his first-half exit, Tim Jordan shouldered the load and responded with 20 carries for 118 yards.
Chandler and Jordan are listed as co-starters on
this week's depth chart.
