I hear alot of people talking about Gonzales but they don't play till Thursday. So do you think there are likely to be anyone hired until that has played out which would likely be this weekend?

I don't think we are going after Gonzo. There is no reason he could not have interviewed prior to the NC game. Afterall, Mullen is HC of another team and he is calling plays for the game. Just a thought.

volsfan, a head coaching job is different; UM has made it clear he would not grant permission for anyone to interview/contact Gonzo or any other asst coach until after thursday's game. I suspect Gonzo's interest has been "gauged" and if its there, we will be on him come friday

Recruits want to know who their position coaches are. That is who they will spend most of their time with. They need to build a repoire quickly with them.

I wonder if the lack of a WR coach will start to hurt us with all of the highly rated WRs CLK has targeted?

Hubbs said on his show yesterday that Kiffin was planning on going after Gonzales hard after the NCG and that there was apparent mutual interest.

Agree, he is letting the man do his job first.
Lane is handling this the right way. He was not gonna leave
right now anyway. Let it play out.

If he is interested we have a great shot.

Agree. No point in going at him "unethically" after you've waited this long.

If Hubbs is correct in saying there is mutual inerest...I really like our chances...

We will spend it, ask Garner.

Where does Gonzo fit, now that we have a OC. Per say

Besides the fact his head coach wouldn't allow it?

Gonzo would be the WR coach and would solidify that we would get some stud WR commits (we prolly will anyway.)

i just don't know if Gonzo comes or not. If we still had the OC open we would have a better shot at getting him. what do you guys think?

I agree...I do not think that unless we have the OC available it will diminish that hire completely.

There are consistent rumors that CLK has one more big surprise hire.

The rumor is a few days old, I thought it was Garner. Nobody was talking about him after we got O.

He was the other one I thought of, but surprise makes me think someone out side the box.
