There seems to be some conflicting reports..I guess we will just have to wait. With or without him, we have a great class coming in

O so you guys can get happy about hale but not happy when I say I WILL BE A BASKETVOL. I have an AAU game tomorrow so I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

He is...but as someone above me said...only the doctors cleared him to play. UT didn't and wouldn't clear him to play. There's too many things that could go wrong. And as much as Bruce cares about his players, I don't know that he could take anything happening to E-Man. Mike Hamilton said that if he wanted to transfer to another school to play, then they would fully support him. But he would not play again at UT. Sad thing, he was a great player.

But...in another thought...I wonder if there's more than just medical reasons going on here? I wonder if Selby is on the line and we know it, and don't wanna lose that scholly.

Either way, E-Man is a fantastic player and I wish him the best in whatever he does.

well i havent saw him since Christmas so I wouldn't know if he's grown... Im just happy he will be a VOL!

FYI:

Bruce Pearl was a guest speaker at my company's corporate office today....

Josh Selby was mentioned during some questions. Bruce didn't seem too happy about discussing it (which he really didn't specify because it's a violation). He simply said "we're still doing some recruiting but for the most part we are done and are excited about the 4 guys we're bringing in". He was including Maymon in that group. He said Tobias has a chance to be the best player he's ever had, even if it's for one year. He said he's a combo of Chism, JP, and Tyler in one player.

All signs point toward Selby going to Kansas. Bruce said "if this point guard had gone to this other school (I assumed he meant Kentucky) they're going to the final four next year without question"

He also told a joke about him running into Pat Patterson at the final four this year and telling him "there's no reason for you to go to the NBA and take a pay cut" and said "Kentucky.... those 'scholarships' they offer...." basically pointing out what we all assume which is Calipari will have Kentucky on probation within 5 years.

The coaching staff is aware of where Selby is going to go... and it's not Tennessee.

Time to move on.

He's a freshmen from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, TN. He's 6'5, started varsity asa freshmen. I remember him jammin it on Sullivan East during the Arby's Classic, on ESPN.com he is on there watchlist for 2013. I hope it helps :good!:

I'm not sure he's real high on our board. That is a few years down the line so we will see, but for UT to offer an East TN kid he better average 40 points a game at minimum.

Well, this is news to me. From what I understood, I thought our chances of landing Selby were supposed to be pretty good, but it doesn't seem that way now.

It's cool. If we can beat you with walk-ons, surely the 4 guys we have coming in will get the job done.
