Now that Clemson has stepped up and fired Bowden during the season is there any hope Hamilton will follow suit? No need in waiting for the season to end is there?

I don't see it happening until the end of the season.

But I think it will happen.

There's a lot more "baggage" to deal with in firing Fulmer than there was with Bowden. Fulmer's buyout is higher. He's been around a lot longer and has much deeper ties to the school. He's won conference titles and a national championship (a long time ago). Even the street next to the stadium is named after him.

agree. if we fired him now all the recruits would jump because we wont know who the coach will be for a long time. by what i have heard it got really bad a Clemson (not as bad as here. like the players even turned against him). i think we will fire him, but lets wait till the end of the year for recruiting sake and hope our new coach can bring em in like nick saban did at Bama last year.

No hope. It needs to be done. But i don't see them doing it. If they were smart they'd announce he was stepping down at the end of the year, so we could throw our name in the coaching pool hat. But i have no faith in mike hamilton as far as that goes. No we'll wait until clemson hits a big homerun hire, maybe auburn too.

I second that notion Fulmer is an excellent recruiter and no need to fire him now. We can search while he is in the seat. We need this to end nicely Fulmer is and forever a vol and has done great things. It has just passed him by at this point. I would like to see him as commentator for a few years replace Bob. Seriously, I think he would be great at that and would love to hear him saturdays.

How about firing Hamilton and replacing him with Fulmer? Is that possible? I agree that CPF is a good part of our history and would like to see him stick around in some role.

NO not yet Fulmer needs to step away from it to get perspective. He would be like Al Davis and we would be the raiders. NOOOOOOOOOOO---BUt after a few years in the booth maybe
