Any chance for Bray to be back for Arky game?

Your really comparing Arkansas, the #7 team in the nation, to Vandy?

This. A lot of people drinking the Dore'-ade.
Don't see it really. They have an opportunistic defense and their best play maker is their scrambling backup quarterback.

Arky is not chopped liver, but they are not a legit top 10 team. Their defense is awful and their run game is inconsistent.

Vandy thoroughly outplayed them the entire game last week. They also got outplayed the majority of the Ole Miss game.

The Vandy game will be every bit as tough as the Arky game if not tougher because we actually have a chance run on Arky....not so much on Vandy. With Simms or Worely, both teams beat us by 2 scores easily. We likely won't even reach the endzone once against Vandy without Bray. That game could especially get really ugly.

well according to your other post theres no way we would have over come Dooleys coaching with or without Bray

(1) The over throw by Worley to Rogers in the endzone would have been a T.D. had Bray been the q.b. The score would have been USC 14 - UT 10.

(2) The pass that was intercepted in the enddzone, after the Waggoner interception return to the 2 yard line would have been complelted for a t.d. and NOT an int. had Bray been in the game. USC 14 - UT 17.

(3) The q.b. sneak that didn't get the 1 yard, would have been a first down had Bray been in the game. LIkely would have lead to a field goal. USC 14 - UT 20.

Bray plays = we win U.T. 20 - USC 14.

Had Bray played the entire game at USC last season, we likely would have won that game. Remember Simms threw three interceptions in that game and we lost.

... and I can remember so many wanna-be coaches on here that were complaining about our defense at the beginning of the year.

Given the lack of overall talent, especially in the secondary, and lack of size up front, I am very pleased with the results from the defense this season.

Maybe Texas knew something at the end of last season when it was reported they were after Wilcox.

The D still has a problem on 3rd downs. I think they had something like 6 opportunities on the 98 yard TD drive the other night to get themselves off the field. I know they were tired, but that doesn't excuse them from going 0-6 on third down stops in one drive.

What defense have you been watching? I think our D is 42nd nationally by yards given up and 21st in scoring, which is pretty amazing given our schedule, experience and talent level, and how long they've been left on the field. The O is our problem, not our D. I'm liking me some Wilcox for the future.

please tell me the site you are getting these stats. i would love to look at all our national stats !! thanks !!

Arky has the 93rd ranked total run defense in the nation. By comparison, Vandy has the 33rd ranked run D. Arky is allowing 188 yards a game on the ground while Vanderbilt is allowing 125 a game. By comparison, we are allowing 163 yards a game.......Arky's run D is really really bad...and they haven't even played the likes of SC and LSU yet who will likely run all over them to make their stats look even worse.

Vandy is a tougher game overall than Arky, because without a doubt we will be one dimensional against the dores.

Someone should make a twitter for Bray's Thumb so we can get updates straight from the source.

We really really need him for ready for this game as it is very winnable with him. Now that his cast is off, I hope he can return early. Ainge played with a broken thumb the majority of his last year if memory serves correct. Not saying the situation is completely the same...but we need him in a bad way....7-5 would make this year much more bearable. Would have blown SC out with him.

You're just setting yourself up for another big disappointment. There's no reason at all, even with Bray, to expect to beat Arkansas in their house this year. None. If we do, it would be a major upset.

He will be out of the cast by Monday. Then, they will start a strenuous Strength and Conditioning cycle dedicated solely to his thumb. They plan to run his thumb on a treadmill, followed by a weight lifting session, where his thumb will be required to bench at least 5 pounds. Eventually, they will work the thumb up to squats and deadlifts.

Hopefully, the thumb will be strong enough, eventually, to play DL too

i kinda keep quiet most of the time, but i have to call you out on this post,it is totally lacking in one aspect, there is no thumb wrestling involved :salute:

Go Vols

i think they should actually keep him out for the rest of the year,if he isn't 100% ready to go

Like I posted above...Arky has the 93rd ranked run D in the nation and the pass D is mediocre at best.

With Bray in there, we will light them up like a Christmas tree if the oline and Poole plays as half as good as they did against Bama and LSU.

It will be a major upset because Arky is still living off preseason hype and is vastly overrated.

Their defense is nowhere near the same league as UGA, SC or Florida's and don't even get me started on LSU and Bama

Hey guys, do me a favor. Think about Arkansas' passing attack, then right after that, think about our secondary.

We ain't winning against Arky. Prepare for the worst.

besides the S/C program i hear they have his thumb on a 5000 cal diet to add some bulk.

I dont think we win @Arkansas with or without Bray.
Vandy is the game UT needs him back and a 100% at.

We are in the bottom half or at the bottom on all defensive categories in the SEC - that's all that matters - I could care less how we compare nationally against teams we don't play and conferences that refuse to play defense at all

You are not thinking clearly. T Wilson will throw for over 320yds against us and we will go down by over 2 TDs against Arky. Trust me
