I'm being assaulted by popups and spam Help!!!!!!!

Sounds like you got some nasty spyware software embedded on your computer.

Try using Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D to get rid of the stuff. I use both, because each program won't get them all.

I also use Slimbrowser instead of internet explorer. It is very similar to IE, but is very good at stopping pop-ups, as well as maximizing the amount of webpage you see instead of a bunch of toolbars, etc.

All of the above software is freeware.

FireFox is good with that. Try using Ad-Aware every day. I also use SecretMaker to delete cookies and it helps cut down on pop-ups.

I use the free version of Ad-Aware that Milo and Allvol suggest and it works very well. I just use the google toolbar for blocking pop ups.

If using IE, try the yahoo pop up blocker....

I use Netzero as my ISP and their pop up blocker works wonderful!!! :good:

Google toolbar was a good choice, just uncheck the box for "advanced options" or some crap like that... its spyware...

Even better is Milo's recommendation of Firefox. It loads pages far quicker than IE, and is more secure.
