They look improved. But still sloopy play, lots of missed tackles etc. Good for them on holding them to field goals, but those should have been punts and we needed to limit them on offense from the gate so to limit any hope they have for getting the o going. Not so much a big deal in this game, but it could be an issue when we go against better offenses.

John Brice said it on his show out of the blue. It was on the app after they went off air. TB didn't stir nothing

If it wasn't a concern two weeks ago it shouldn't be a concern this week. I've been critical of butch but this is just a smear like the Mack crowder deal.

Further indication that the criticism of the head coach comes from a treacherous mob of low characters, who do not care about the difference between real criticism and unreal criticism.

Real criticism?

5th year head coach, Butch Jone's (who is the highest paid public employee in the state of Tennessee and the 16th highest paid coach in all of NCAA) SEC records:

1-4 vs Florida
2-2 vs Georgia
0-4 vs Alabama
2-2 vs Vanderbilt
3-1 vs South Carolina
2-2 vs Missouri
4-0 vs Kentucky
0-4 vs Rotating West opponent

14-19 Overall

I don't see anything unfair about saying this isn't acceptable.

There was a story about 4-6 months ago. Some sports writer tells a VFL Penn give all former players free tickets to all games and let's them sit in the sideline. VFL takes the bait, gets upset and tells local writers TN isn't treating VFLs right.

Was that Basilio? Jimmy Hymes told the story on sport talk. Perhaps volnation needs to cause Basilio a little trouble.

Can you imagine how many tickets it would take, and where in the sideline would you put all the VFLs.

2013 2-6
2014 3-5
2015 5-3
2016 4-4
2017 0-1

Got to let 2017 play out. 6-2 would be a pretty good result. 5-3... meh. 4-4 or worse and it will be difficult to defend as acceptable.

Besides no place, where did I say that there was something unfair about citing the above as unacceptable? This thread is not even about that record. Ding, ding, ding. It is about Antone Davis not flying with the team.

Again, Davis is employed by UT and the football program. He's been here longer than Butch, he is the VFL coordinator. You guys are making him out to be some sort of bum broke ex player looking for a hand out because you're in love with Butch. The story will be told soon

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt but I don't understand your point, whatsoever.
Alabama has the largest non coach football staff in the country, they don't pay for them to travel to the games. This is extremely common with every football program.
Are you certain you're not letting your legitimate concerns about the coach, cause you to see phantom issues?

Seriously there are only so many seats on a plane, seats on a bus. The football players who are on the travel squad must travel. The coaches who are going to coach the game must travel. Those that tend to players on the side line (trainers, et al ) must travel.

Some folks are NOT must travel or be on the sideline folks. That choice has nothing to do with VFL or employment status - it is based on need, cost, capacity, etc.

And Fulmer lost 5 of the first 6 to Florida. I know you are going to say it was Spurrier and ignore the fact that Alabama was not the Alabama it is today during those 11 years.

Treacherous mob fits many of these folks very well.

There are some who offer balanced criticism but most could care less about the players or the program.

Criticism is warranted in some occasions, but when fans start to devolve into name calling like, "Lyle" or "Sgt. Carter" it shows a lot about them. I'm all for having an intelligent debate about Butch's capabilities as a head coach, but just don't care for the grade school teasing.

No, it is not unusual for many paid staff to either be left behind or have to provide their own transportation. BTW, there are always people complaining about not getting to travel. Director of Football Operations is in a no win position when it comes to making travel list decisions.
