Everyone wants butch gone except a few loyalists that wanted Dooley to stay. Hes going to be gone sooner or later.
I think the OP is spot on. If your on staff VFL coordinator does not travel with the team, coupled with the many complaints from former players, this ain't gonna end well for Butch Boy.
We chuckle when Saban tells the bus driver to pull out without Kiffin.
Because ***** decides who flies. Some People have no freaking clue on hereOn the Tony Basilio Show it was stated that Antone Davis was not allowed to travel with the team to Florida. It was also stated that Antone had to drive his personal car to ATL for the GA Tech game.
Butch Jones is in trouble if this is true.
Is there a need for a paid VFL coordinator and is that person really needed at away games?
That is true for every coach. Every single coach will be gone that is why it is so easy for people to say see I told you the coach of such and such couldn't get it done. TN has only won two national championhips in the past 75 years and two SEC championships in the past 25 years. TN plays in the toughest conference and plays the toughest teams in the country every year. I say lets see how the season plays out.
Id say any coach at a big time school that makes it 12-15 years "Got it done" Alabama has skewwed the view so much.
If Tennessee makes the gator bowl year one, Top bowl two years ago, sugar bowl last year, at least 1 ten win season (not counting the bowl) played in the seccg a couple times, the get rid of him crowd is not nearly as loud. Most reasonable people believe that a coach that consistently wins 9-11 games will luck up and win a nc every once in a while and thats all most people ask for. Every coach os going to have a down year sometime, thats why hitting the 10-11 win mark when you can is so important.
Until Alabama gets brought back to reality like the rest of the SEC, I think going 9-3 or 10-2 should be the standard. I don't expect Tennessee to beat both Georgia and Florida every year (we didn't do that often during the glory years). We take the Bama loss, split with Georgia/Florida and never lose to the rest of the East. Depending on who we draw in the West depends on whether it's a 9 or 10 win regular season
