I would recommend against reading Mercola for actual scientific information.

The vaccine is very safe, has a side effect profile very much like any other vaccine, and is quite effective at preventing acquisition of the HPV virus (and subsequent viral-associated cancer).
Curious about something, kd. Where does one go or where do you go to get an honest side effect profile, severity of side effects, etc?

It’s an interesting debate , I had all my shots , so did my kids , and dogs . Never thought of it as anything more than it was just something we had to do to keep from contracting something that could be spread by others . When you say the government is forcing us to get treatment for the sake of others “or else “ , just for discussion , where does that stop ? Could they also say you have a sexually transmitted disease and you should be walled off from others until it’s taken care of ? Before I catch hell from a bunch of hairs on fire , it’s just for discussion .
Some diseases are reportable to the cdc for records keeping and statistics. I received an email from the head honcho doc in Virginia about hepatitis going nuclear here. From what I've seen, it the same as it was years ago. That's why the email hit me funny.

Did you see my Q to kiddiedoc? If so, do you have a resource you trust for side effects and severity profiles?

Absolutely not. He chose not to vaccinate himself which could have avoided an unnecessary lawsuit, lost time at school, and ultimately suffering through Chickenpox. He asked for it so I hope he enjoyed it.
You dont suffer through chickenpox..lol

I think anti-vaxxers are idiots in general but I see nothing wrong with a lawsuit asking if the government can required vaccination.

Amidst an outbreak? I don't think they should require vaccination, but if they want to prohibit unvaccinated individuals from being amidst the affected government institution (in this case, the school) it makes sense. Same logic as a quarantine.

I was talking in general - the question about can the government require them.

I have no problem with preventing someone from attending school in such a situation.

Mcmom's hospital is same. Oddly enough, several get influenza every year. The nurse responsible for giving the shots to hospital employees got it last year. Which is more ironic than a kid getting chicken pox who chose not to be immunized.
I mean the flu shot is a crap shoot every year as it mutates. My neighbor is a teacher, couldn’t get it early in the season due to surgery and then “forgot” and wound up getting the flu. If I had a kid in her class I would be annoyed at her forgetfulness.

If you (anyone) are an anti-vaxxer then **** you and I hope you burn in hell. There is no convincing you of anything beyond your own warped biases, so enjoy destroying herd immunity and setting humanity back at least a century. Hope you die first.

I wonder if anyone had studied the infection rates of influenza between vaccinated and unvaccinated for flu in healthy populations?

I assume even in years where the shot misses the mark that population does better than those who don’t get a shot. I get one because we have small kids and people at work and in general are disgusting and I don’t want their nasty diseases.

Youre probably right. I only hear about those who take the vaccine and get it anyway. Skewes my perspective, I imagine.
Ive never had one. But I am not immuno-compromised nor am I around immuno-compromised people

They pick the 4 top strains in Europe the year before and include that in the flu vaccines for usa... Can't always be 100% spot on. We had about 15% opt out of flu shots for one reason or another. I think that's the highest opt out I've seen in 5 years, with no increase in flu rates for employees. The stats for pts was 78 + tests, 28 of those vaccinated for flu.

Saw my first hpv mediated scc the other day.

Is this proof the antivaxxer is really only a "danger" to themselves?

I had chicken pox twice as a child. And i turned out relatively normal.
I had them when I was 18. It made it difficult for me and the wife to have my son.
It can actually make men sterile if they get it later in life.
