I would love to see our football team come out Saturday and establish a ground game before we hit the meat of our SEC schedule. We've had a good couple of weeks to work on blocking schemes and to get our backs ready. I'd also love to see something positive happen with Special Teams play. Your thoughts, 'Nation?

Even if TN establishes a ground game against Buffalo, does that tell us much? Not like the Defense of Buffalo is very comparable to the Defense TN will face against LSU or Alabama?

Hard for me to care about this game. I am basically only excited about seeing Devrin Young and our running game. Our passing game will look good against Buffalo even without JH.

Don't know about the game plan, but CDD has had D. Young walking around campus and the practice field carrying a football. I didn't hear the whole piece on radio, but I think it had something to do with him fumbling a PR in practice this week. According to the story, if someone, even a ball boy, can knock the ball from his hands, he has to do pushups.

If we look good running the ball against buffalo then we have made improvements since Montana where we struggled to get a TD with four downs on the 1 yard line.

Good point. But i'd say TN would need to have something really special - 250 yd rushing - against Buffalo for it to truly be a sign of improvement.

Maybe it will happen. I am skeptical because Poole hasn't shown he is an SEC level back.

Makes sense because he rushed for over 1000 yds last year behind a horrible oline......

No one's going to confuse Buffalo with LSU or Alabama, but they are the next opponent. To me, these 'softer' games on our schedule are opportune times to re-establish the fundamentals of the game (run, block, tackle, special teams) so that we can have some semblance of 'balance' going into the Georgia game.

It will be Montana part 2. Run, Run then pass to get the 1st down, then repeat.

i expect us to be balanced. we need to try to get some confidence for our rbs, but we also need to break in some receivers to bigger roles. im expecting about a 50/50 pass/run in the first half turning into more running if the score gap gets as big as expected

Gameplan is easy and predictable: Poole 2 yd run, Poole 1 yd run, 3rd down pass to Rogers or Rivera. Our special teams will keep Buffalo in it through 3 qtrs, we'll pull away late: 28-13

Along with our run game I'd like to see our D show some improvement. Pitching a shutout it totally doable against this team.

Good Guys - 48
Buffalos - 0

What on earth leads you to believe we will score 48 points on their D, other than the simple fact that you're a member of VN?

I know my posts about the Running game sound Negavol, but Im just frustrated with the lack of production from a senior RB who complained about not being played earlier, now has an opportunity, but can't produce.

If we only beat buffalo 28 to 13, we won't win but 5 or 6 games all year. No way we score less than 40. I say we win 45 to 10
