Two likely possibilities, imo.
1.) The sports media is bringing some heat against UT because the fan base rejected GS. This has the potential to drive UT football into an Anti-Hero narrative. Option? UT says, to quote BJones, "**** em all." They hire Lane Kiffin and embrace the anti-hero mentality.
2.) UT chooses draw from tradition in a remembrance of who we are and what we (used) to stand for. Hire a favored UT son (PF, PM, TM, DC, w/e.) Not sexy, but we break free from the rat race. Perhaps we use a legacy coach for a few years to re-align our identity and buy time to find the next long term solution.
I know there are other options, but that's what I see today as two strong possibilities.
After yesterday, I'm just glad it's not GS. I can get behind either one, but I prefer #2.
Cheers.
