Anthony Jordan (head official vs LSU)

Pretty sure Anthony Jordan officiated in the NBA in the early 2000's, and they basically terminated him. Pretty bad when you can't cut it in the NBA where all you have to do is protect your stars.

I believe I remember him officiating some Memphis Grizzlies games.

Seriously, the SEC doesn't care about hiding anything. Mark Whitehead is relatively new as the head of SEC officials. The former head of officials lived in Lexington, while Steve Shaw (head of football) lives in Birmingham and is a Bama grad. I kid you not. They don't even try to make it look impartial.

I was listening to Bob and Bruce live.... but I just rewatched and took the screenshot above. The announcers said that they were going to reset the clock to 1.4 sec.... then as the free throws were being shot were surprised and said something like "now it looks like they are going to leave it at 0.6".
Haters gonna hate, cheaters gonna cheat!

That is why fans need to know the refs assigned before the game. Some insider at UT should be able to learn and share that information in advance. Same with football since the honorable Steve Shaw assigns those crews!

Steve Shaw only assigns football crews. Whitehead is in charge of basketball.

I may be in the minority here, but I thought that Steve Shaw was the best and loved it when he officiated our football games. He was the utmost professional. Although I will say that he hasn’t been the best coordinator of officials.

"The SEC issued a statement Monday saying that Jordan "has a lengthy track record as a fair and impartial basketball official."

Says who - the SEC? That’s funny. Kentucky fans should worry if this guy refs a meaningful game for them. This is not just a UT problem. All fans of other SEC teams, except LSU, should be concerned. Which other referees have biases? They should all be exposed. He can’t be the only one.

If we can get our heads out off our asses and play championship level bball, I want to crack Kentucky’s head open and face LSU in sec tournament and bust them too. No holds barred abusive bball.

I respectfully disagree with your assessment of Shaw. But, my opinion does not matter in the great scheme of things.

You still don't call it with .6 left in a tie game unless the player with control is in the act of shooting or it is some sort of flagrant or intentional foul. Jordan certainly swallowed on some LSU fouls that were more obvious than that.
That ref can swallow something else.

Unfortunately in college basketball, it’s not about how good or tough your team is, it’s about the name on the front of your jerseys.

No way will we get the same kind of treatment that these other big basketball programs get on a consistent basis.

Let’s face it, the NCAA doesn’t give a sh*t about Tennessee. Never has, never will.

Maybe all of us whining about crappy officiating are right after all. SEC officials are trash.

Unreal. And that is Jordan himself. So he is either grossly negligible at his job, or he simply didn't care that the clock operator either ignored or didn't understand his directive to set the clock, and can then claim ignorance. In either case, he should be reprimanded and disciplined for the season's worth of poor officiating in a single game. The SEC needs to stop protecting him and just admit he ruined an otherwise great game, and take him to task over it instead of lauding his accomplishments and alleged fair play over his career.
