Anthony Herrera shares his life's biggest mistake

Hes probably mad because he never made the star that the people in Trinidad thought he was. Wasnt he an undrafted free agent?

True, he went undrafted. Maybe Herrera realized what we've all come to learn about Fulmer. Fulmer doesn't exactly coach players up to their full potential now does he?

I am in no way advocating AH's statements but it is too little too late.

Based on what he said about himself:

I don't like people who lie to me. That's my main pet peeve. I don't like ignorance, and I don't like people who lie to me. If I tell you something, that's just really what it is.

And Fulmer:

My biggest regret was going to the University of Tennessee. The head coach, Phillip Fulmer, is a very two-faced guy. The side you saw out of him through recruiting wasn't the side that you saw once you got there.

Sounds like Fulmer lied to him during recruiting. Hererra doesn't sound like a bad guy to me, just unusually frank for an athlete.

The comments at the end of that article are worth reading:
You people who arent in the know are hilarious. Most of you dont even know Ant and the type of person he is. Loyalty is all he knows and Fulmer flat out LIED to him, as well as many other players...he's just the first to speak out publicly about his disdain towards not only Fulmer but the university.

My biggest regret is paying money to have to watch you play for Tennessee. I wish the University of Tennessee had never let you in. You ought to be thanking the University for giving you an education and an opportunity to be in the NFL. You can say what you want about Coach Fulmer but the University never did anything to you.

Come on dude. a coach lying to a recruit. If they told them the truth, some of them would never commit to any team.

Yea son I see you sitting the bench for 2 years, and at that point after You are reevaluated we will put you on the kick coverage team.

That line would real them in.

I remember on those NBC football intro's where the players say their names and colleges, he said "The real UT." so thats pretty surprising.

He should have played for the Fighting Chihuahuas at Guadalupe U...don't think he would have made the arena league much less the NFL.

maybe he didn't get the same kind of love that Coleman & Munoz got....

:punch_bag::horse::gone: This is what I feel like for THREADING an existing topic!!! Sorry again...

It could be worse, you could have been using the lady vols symbol thinking it was just the power T since you started.....:w00t:

I don't think CPF really needs a job...ever again.

Very true, but his ego is still severely wounded, something that landing a job at a school loaded with 5* players (no chance though) might assuage. Then there is Dr. Phil who might try to help him.

Go luck looking to the vol family for help in your career after football you schmuck

Fulmer must have caught Anthony in the showers with a male cheerleader and finally leaked the info. I'd be pissed, too.

wrong, this kind of garbage makes the whole university look bad

again, you're wrong. you don't have any clue what you're talking about.

players and ex teammates care more for each other than they do the name of the program once they leave school.

I agree with Rexvol. Saying going to the University of Tennessee was the worst decision of your life looks bad for the university. If the interview sways one recruit, or even student, then it was bad for the university.

Players and ex-teammates might care more for each other, but the Vol-family extends to boosters, ex-coaches, and fans. Not too many places around here will be lining up to give him cushy jobs once his career is over.

trust me, he'll be fine.

This is the first time I've seen someone speak out against Fulmer's image. Everyone else always has something positive.

• Former Tennessee lineman Anthony Herrera trashed Phil Fulmer pretty hard in a Q&A with Bob Sansevere of the Pioneer Press:

"My biggest regret was going to the University of Tennessee. The head coach, Phillip Fulmer, is a very two-faced guy. The side you saw out of him through recruiting wasn't the side that you saw once you got there. He wasn't a molder of men. He was just a politician, trying to work his way through. I thought about leaving, but my teammates, being there for the team, is what kept me there."
