I saw the apathetic tread and agree, although I hate feeling this way. There comes a point where the only thing left to do is root against bama for the rest of the season. That being said, what are the answers to making this top 10 storied program a top 10 team annually again? I don't care to hear the complaining,I'd like to know what it would take. Fire the coach? Who do u hire? Fire the oc ? Who replaces him? Is it just a matter of being more patient? What are the answers?

I don't think anybody really knows at this point.... and if they do they obviously don't care or it would take place.

Look. Firing CBJ is just not going to happen. Can we agree on that? I've already heard the dumbest things in the world: from Kiffen to Myles to (gulp) Gruden to Briles (great coming a title 9, right?).

CBJ is not going anywhere this year or next. So given that absolute: I think you have got to move away from Debord, Mahoney, and bring in a real QB coach.

Not what some want to hear but that's the best and most realistic path. Other options are just fanciful.

Sadly this is probably correct. Except I would add to pray someone steals butch and the best staff in America so we get to start over

So basically in two or three years we'll be looking for a new head coach because. This is Jones's offense and it's not going anywhere regardless of the staff changes he won't make.

In my opinion, the biggest thing we can do is focus on recruiting OL and change the offensive system.

My ONLY hope is that when it proved it was time to make a change (OC, DC, S&C) he did and now will say, "OK guys my system isn't getting it done. I'm getting this guy who has one that will. I'm the caretaker, but I'm letting go of control of the offense so we can win a championship next year with all this talent."

Guys,
My post is not what I may or may not want - but its reality, period. All this other FAHR this or that is just absurd.

I do want to amend my comments based on CBJ post game comments. If he really beleives that some guys are not focused or giving their all - then clearly making position changes would be a natural response. But with so many injuries - how many options do we really have?

Your right CBJ gets 1 more year. An AD needs to be in place. So Vol fans suck it up, shake heads, cover your eyes, and prepare for another mediocre season under CBJ. After all some fans think a 26-20 coach is all we can afford. I mean why even try to spend the $ & hire a coach who can bring the Vols to the next level. People will say what $..umm $106 million for renovation to Neyland. Hey the stadium will look better. I mean a coach who just lost to South Carolina and had the worst loss to Alabama since 1906 is someone you gotta hang on to.

I laugh so hard when people think it is out of the realm of probability. This is about money. The people who say it CAN'T happen are just repeating what they hear others say. It absolutely CAN happen. Will it? Who knows. Probably depends on alot of factors.

Make all our coaches salaries, top to bottom, so competitive anyone would have a hard time turning down an offer from Tennessee.

Well it all starts with the head man an recruiting I really think Cbj is a ok coach but after him is a different story. our offense did not show up tonight period an showed no energy or not physical at all. Plus you have to play to the strength of your players as much as I love Dobbs he is not a quaterback. Our offense will be better when we have a new quarterback that can throw the ball an a new offensive coordinator

As much as I hate to say it this is mostly correct. Mark my words though: No one is leaving before the end of the season. lyle will not change the system that worked so well in the MAC. Maybe when lyle was hired after the years of the Hamilton magic he may have been the best, although Charley Strong all but took the job. I am more glad every day that he did not even he did beat Baylor tonight. This fanbase is second to none and we prove it over and over. When you use the word resilient we are what that means. lyle wants to be here forever and i don't blame him. Fulmer did as well and we know how that turned out. He was as stubborn as lyle about staff changes and it done him in too!!
