Probably. But couldn't the electric ones be a little more economical to use considering the price of propane?

maybe, would you believe I can usually get at least 25hrs out of a tank when using my smoker becuse I cook at such a low temp(around 225°)

Wouldn't it basically boil down to preference? I plan on smoking two boston butts this weekend and make some BBQ

does it make sense that the gas will get hotter faster?

Would it be much faster than electric? If I had to choose I would probably use the gas as not to compromise on flavor as much. I know you have wood chips to flavor with but would that make much difference?

the gas will heat quicker and won't have the fluxuation in temps that electric will, make sense?

you are probably correct, would you believe that my gas smoker reheats very fast after I open the door and empty and refill the wood box or refill the water pan?

But how can an electic smoker fluxuate the temp once set? (This is a legit ? Cuz I've never used an electric one)

when you open the door won't you lose heat? doesn't a gas stove top heat up much quicker than and electric one? is that a fair compairison?

everytime you open the door or take the top of it loses heat. when you set a temp on either, once that temp is reached the unit will suspend the heat (obviously just like an oven) so, wouldn't it make more sense for the unit to heat as fast as possible. Plus, gas is easier to maintain. Wouldn't you agree?
