Another Year, another bad decision at QB

OMG some of you people are completely nuts...Heupel wants to win, if he thinks HB can help the team he'll be in there if not he won't. These conspiracy theories that Heupel won't play HB or Milton is his JG. This is real life not Madden where you change QBs after a turnover, he earned the starting job so you give him his chance but the lights are just to bright for him. Let Hook and HB battle it out at practice and see what happens. I really hope he doesn't start Milton that'll be a huge mistake, but instead of borrowing troubles I'll wait and see what happens before I react

everyone said that about the last coaching staff, too.
you guys just think coaches always know more and they are always right.
they arent.
Pruitt was an idiot. I never liked him. I do think CJH might be a decent coach. There are literally only a few sure hires out there. At least we will score some points. The bottom line is I’ll still take the perspective of our coach over that of a random poster, especially during game 2 of his first year on the job.

You serious Clark? What game were you watching? Milton’s accuracy, touch, pocket awareness, etc…..is beyond horrible. Aside from the terrible passes, he couldn’t even see a guy all alone running straight at him to protect the ball.
Did you look at the time I posted that? And the disclaimer “to this point”? Posted after the first series by Hooker.

The offensive scheme from the first to the second quarter of the pit game shows what happens when the play-callers abandon the deep ball because the quarterback can't execute. When Milton got hurt they brought in another one who can't see the field.

Bailey is the only QB that can execute a passing offense. Lets just run the triple option if we keep Milton as our starter.

It's aggravating after watching JG for what seamed like eternity.
If only the offense required just passing. I’m as frustrated as anyone but I’m not sold that HB knows the offense and has the mobility to get down field on the designed runs like we saw today. I’m a big HB fan but I’m not sure this offense is totally in his wheelhouse.

OP, this is true whether others want to believe it or not. Milton wasn’t good at Michigan, and he wasn’t good against a Week 1 opponent here.

Now, maybe there is not a better option…we don’t know. But I’d find out if I was the coach.

But in this case he actually is… he played last year… did you see it?
Yeah, I remember thinking Bailey was outclassed by Shrout more often than not. I also remember Bailey completing passes underneath prevent defenses. Honestly, it blows my mind how many of you guys think you can evaluate a QB better than Heupel. Good grief. The dude was a high-level QB himself, and he coached several others - including a heisman. What does your resume look like?

Do you not think Heupel wants to win? He doesn't want to keep his job? He doesn't want the QB who gives us the best shot?

Give me a break.

Why aren’t you a coach somewhere?

Well he's wrong about choosing Milton over Hooker. I don't know why people won't trust what they have been shown. Milton wasn't good enough at Michigan but put him in Orange and some people think his problems are solved.

He’s 3rd on the depth chart for a reason.

Well said and well played sir.

Volquest staff agrees milton deep ball is big issue, they believe hooker should start next week. He made mistakes but did very well. Milton has not done good at all in 3 halves per volquest.....and anyone whos been watching

Bailey can’t be put in because if he does then cjh could have a qb controversy
Heupel is not going to sacrifice W/L to keep Bailey on the bench without a valid reason for it. He simply does not have confidence with Bailey compared to the other two. Well, he might have confidence with Bailey over Milton now.

Have you watched Milton play the last two weeks? You know, the guy our infallible coach tabbed as the starter? How did he do with that decision? Do you think Saban would choose Milton out of our three QBs? What about Smart, who do you think he would choose? Who do you think Swinney would choose?

Here’s one for you: who do you think Freeze would choose? Who do you think Kiffin would choose?
