Yeah, I'm not much for watching the Vols when I already know the outcome. Sad that it has gotten to that point, but yet here we are.
I'm still a believer in Pruitt moving forward, but he has got to make the leap from top-notch DC when he has a loaded roster -to- top-notch HC when he has to build a roster. It can be done, and I think his resume' indicates that he can do it...but he has a ways to go yet. Recruiting is on the upswing; he's done okay with his coaching hires; but he is obviously still learning how to manage the "El Grande Mosaic". Georgia State, Kentucky, and Jarret Guarantano being Exhibits 1, 2, and 3 against him so far. Time to put all three behind him, IMO, and move forward.
I also believe that finding a functional QB will solve a lot of problems this team currently has. The offense will rally around a QB they believe gives them a chance; tipping the TOP scales back in our favor will help the defense; and the entire team will play harder...and better...when they believe they can win the game. Again, JMO.
If you have BVS, skip the Bama game. Don't watch the score on your cell phone. Get completely off the grid. Enjoy a Saturday in October doing anything other than watching college football. Go catch that fat bass you just know is out there in the river. Go take that 8-pointer that has shitted you for 3 years running. Go play golf. Take your family to the mountains, or the lake, or the beach. For once in your life, relax and enjoy a Saturday in October.
Then wake up Sunday morning...check the score just to confirm what you already know, and go to church. Ask the Good Lord to help Jeremy pick the right QB as UT moves forward into the second half of the 2020 season. Those are the 5 games that will actually tell you what you can look forward to for the UT Football program. The 2020 season will be a "good one" if UT can (a) get bowl eligible and gain those extra practices; (b) continue to recruit well; and (c) find an SEC-caliber QB heading into the 2021 season.
Gotta take the long view here. Go Vols.
