A little further down, in the comments...
By the way, Fulmer/Cutcliffe/Chavis are 7-0 against Georgia. They will make it 8-0 this year.

This made much more sense than Cut replacing Fulmer after a loss to Kentucky...

This guy is blind folded and shooting at a moving target.

Phillip Fulmer will be replaced by David Cutcliffe the first week in December. (The final straw will be Tennessee losing to Kentucky for the first time since 1984.) Hearing the news, Johnny Majors will laugh deep into January.

Funny, I see also see that happening although I think Cut will be named as interim hfc only until the NFL regular season ends and Gruden is officially offered the job.

If UT wins the SEC or a BCS bowl this year, Fulmer may retire. That's more likely than him being replaced because they lose to UK. UK will be good this year and especially on offense.

Andre Woodson is a name everyone in the nation will know by the end of the year.

I don't think any of that really matters. After the last few seasons, losing to UK would be very damning for Fulmer regardless of how well they do next year. It's still Kentucky and UT should still beat them.

I agree Kentucky is going to be a tough game this year. UT better come into that game ready to go to war.

Kentucky has a nice matchup. An experienced, talented QB playing a very inexperienced secondary. I'm sure they will try to take advantage of that.

I would prefer to see Phil go out that way than to be drug out kicking and screaming of betrayals and backstabbers ala CJM. IMO a 9+ win season that includes a loss to KY would probably not be enough to dislodge him but if KY is the 5th or 6th regular season loss (not impossible) it's going to be pretty wild on the hill come the Holidays.

IF we lost to UK and IF CPF got fired. WHY would I want any coach from a staff that just lost to UK to be named the new head coach at UT?

Dude, Cutcliffe threw the ball a lot last season! Don't let the yards per game stat fool you. Our offense was awesome!

I, like you, remember people pushing Cut out the door when he left. While I thought he did a good job in somewhat fixing something that was broken last year, I do not want him as HC. Mike Hamilton would never make that move.

I sure hope not. I'd prefer keeping Fulmer to Cutcliffe taking over.

I don't like Cutcliffe as the coach either. Tennessee needs to take a completely different direction whenever the next football coach is hired.

I think Mike has already set us up for that. Pearl and Raleigh were hires that completely turned 180 from their predecessors.

LOL

That inexperienced secondary will play Kentucky after 11 other games.

by that game, our new guys will be SEC vets
and their SEC vets could be a well oiled machine. I don't know what'll happen any more than anyone else but if KY is going to break the streak any time soon this is the year for them to do it.
