Another shooting... nothing will change

It’s time to identify these folks as having a mental disorder
It was until around 2012 then they changed it to be more "inclusive". It has caused way more harm than good and prevented these people from getting the help they need. It's especially cruel for young kids who haven't fully matured to make many important life decisions yet some in the medical community will happily chop those kids junk off and load them with hormones or other drugs without blinking an eye. Could these drug cocktails have something to do with the trans violence?

No surprise this was pushed through under Obama. Same guy that pushed for men to be able to pee pee in the little girls room and now we have dudes competing against women in sports. We need to come to our senses on this nonsense.

The least surprising thing I will see today ....

@W.TN.Orange Blood has posted a social media message on the politics forum of VolNation from the far-right (and yes, "Libs of Tik Tok" is the username for various far-right and anti-LGBTQ social media accounts) in the immediate aftermath of a school shooting, which politicizes the tragedy and seeks to cast politically-motivated blame.

Oh STFU. Your boy is seizing the means of production and has sent the national guard into two major cities and threatening a third. He said he can do whatever he wants because he's the president. Isn't this what you dumb AF 2nd Amendment guys always feared?
How ironic would it be if Trump did attempt to go full-on authoritarian dictator, and it was an armed populace that put him down.

The common element in shootings is guns?

Wow, thanks for that blinding glimpse of the obvious. You are one sharp cookie
One common element in school shootings is that they tend to occur much more frequently in the United States. According to World Population Review, since the Columbine shooting in 1999, there have have been more people shot to death in American schools or on college campuses (such as Virginia Tech in 2007), than in the rest of the world combined. That is including adults as well as children.

* I have to say, or someone will point it out, that these tragedies are by no means exclusive to the United States. They are more common, however.

Another common element is America leads the world in anti-depressant, ADD and other mental medication prescriptions.

False.

We have seen every motivation, every mental illness, every political alignment, every nuance you can think of.

The common element throughout is guns.

Period.
The “common element” in the UK is Knives & Hammers. So they’ve taken “common sense” steps to restrict access to Knives & Hammers in the UK.

It’s not proved successful yet, but they’re pretty sure it’s only a matter of time until their Knife Bans bear fruit.

I wonder if there is a higher level “common element” that would link the mass attacks in the US & UK 🤔

It's the only thing we can control.
Show me ANY place in this country that has effectively controlled guns. Just like trying to „control“ drugs.
Criminals do not follow laws. That is why they are CRIMINALS 🙄
I can see it now, a bunch of gang bangers sitting around one day and one of them looks at his phone and says „oh man! My Glock is illegal now! I guess I better go turn it in.“

What a bunch of nonsense. No, you can't control guns because they are protected by the  Constitution. And even if you change it, criminals will still have plenty of access to them.

Unbelievable that you offer absolutely NOTHING of substance toward addressing the issue of mental illness, which we  could actually improve.

According to court papers filed in Dakota County, Minnesota from the time, Westman wanted to the name Robin to reflect that '[identifying] as a woman'.

But in a handwritten manifesto shared by the shooter in a YouTube video before opening fire, Westman appeared to question that decision.

'I only keep [the long hair] because it is pretty much my last shred of being trans. I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brainwashed myself,' the killer wrote in a scrawled cryptic message.

'I can’t cut my hair now as it would be an embarrassing defeat, and it might be a concerning change of character that could get me reported.

'It just always gets in my way. I will probably chop it on the day of the attack.'

Westman also wrote about struggling with how to identify, adding: 'I don’t want to dress girly all the time but I guess sometimes I really like it. I know I am not a woman but I definitely don’t feel like a man.'
